ok well mine was born 2.8 kilos (6 pounds 4.5 ounces) and she has gained weight very slow. i get mine weighed about every week but i have to take her to the pharmacy and hospital because scales of so different. i just looked it up mine was 14 lbs at 9 months and 73 cms. so a little bigger. I would just work on as many feeds as possible during the day and getting extra calorie formula if not add extra scoops to the formula if it doesnt cause constipation problems

they always try to worry you about babies weight when in actual fact some babies are just more active then others and just burn off the calories, or just struggle with weight gain for no particular reason. we gave my daughter over night feeds til she was 10 months now she goes 11 hours before we wake her in the morning.

Make sure you are offering solids before milk because solids make up the main part of their nutrition at this age and they should be eating more solids then formula, and also get a high calorie formula such as pediasure. offer as many meals as you can during the day mine has solids before each milk feed and has feeds three hourly all day. shes still skinny with little baby weight on her. Also feed fattening foods such as rusks/crackers/toast with peanut butter, cheese spread, or butter and where possible make your own food for her and puree it adding cream, cheese and butter. if you use the tinned stuff just add cheese or butter and heat it up in the microwave.

Try foods like fish fingers, potato gems, biscuits, white bread, slices of cheese, porridge, weetbix, and also keep up the fruit and vegies such as pieces of apple/banana/pear water melon etc. If you have do wake her up for a night feed, its hard setting your alarm over night but its all worth it.

Keep stuffing her at every opportunity. Have you tried different formulas to see if there is one she likes more? Someone in a different thread talked about something called hungrier milk that has more calories.

Hey Laura

My little girl has the same "problem" AND she wont touch formula!! I was so worried about her that I took her to a pediatrician but he said there was no need to worry as she was developing well, she was just small! There is a chart that you can use to plot your baby's growth

http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nhanes/grow...

so long as your little ones growth curve fits in there somewhere and keeps going up (it should never go in a straight line or drop) then she's probably just like my daughter... a small child.

So long as she's getting a balanced diet with plenty of vegetables, fruit and not so much processed foods like cake and icecream she should be just fine.

How much did she weigh at birth and how much does she weigh now? My grandbaby turned 1 on May 3 and weighs just 16 lbs. She eats everything in sight, walks and finally got her first 2 teeth, and is perfectly normal. Her dad is 150 and her mum 100 lbs. As long as she is putting on some weight and her head circumference is increasing, she is meeting milestones, don't get too excited.
