I'm debating on whether or not to take my 10 week old son to see the easter bunny. Germs with all the other kids sitting on his lap. and is it some pedophile perv under that costume. Whats everyone elses view?

You would be standing right next to the baby so it's not like your leaving him alone with the easter bunny! Go for it! He is exposed to germs everywhere you go!

No one tried to make you feel dumb, but if you already made up your mind that you weren't going to take him "since they are still not letting children in the ob or pediatrics unit at the hospital due to H1N1" why did you bother asking us? That's a little pointless. You asked a question and got answers. You don't need to go taking offense because you didn't get the answer you were looking for.

Put a blanket down before putting the baby down,or if your that concerned you get in the picture and you hold the baby and sit next to the rabbit tha'ts what I did esp with Santa.

There are germs everywhere. There are still germs from the last time u were sick all over your house. Your just not catching it because u cant catch the same virus twice. You can catch the same strain of virus more than twice, but not the same one. Your own home is just as dangerous as the mall, or your parents house or your best friends house. Most people dont go out when they are bad sick anyways, but they do go to the dr when they are bad sick but for some reason people rule out a dr office for germs. I took my kids out when they were 4 days old. Hospitals are the diriest places in the world, and the place where u r most likly to catch something. If ur baby made it out of there ok, its gonna make it outta the mall ok. Dont worry and go. Itll be fun and a story to tell when ur baby is older.

I don't see anything wrong with it. When my daughter was 2 1/2 months old she seen santa and then at 5 1/2 months she seen the easter bunny, I also think its great to spend the $5 for a keepsake that will last forever!

u know when u get a vaccine for a flu, it's a milder bit of the flu to help your body learn to fight it?? well i'm not saying you're making a bad decision, because you're not. I know you want to protect him!! But u can't be too careful because at some points he does need to come into contact with germs so that his body can learn to fight them!! i was so easy going with my son, and he never got sick!! even at preschool, there are always kids that get sick... it's just how it is!! But when their bodies get used to it, it makes them stronger!!! If they never get to be around germs or are always using antibacterial handsoap, the first germ they come into contact with, they will get sick because their body won't be able to fight it!! good luck to you and your baby!! :) p.s. no one was trying to make you feel dumb!! we were giving our own personal views, what you asked for. u don't have to feel bad!!

Well I'm thinking that since they are still not letting children in the ob or pediatrics unit at the hospital due to H1N1 I'm not taking him to see a bunny who touches tons of children everyday. To me its not worth the risk. Plus My son has not had all of his shots. So ya'll can try and make me feel like a dumb parent for worrying about it but I'm not going to feel bad for worrying and being careful when it comes to my childs well being.

I took my son, who is now ten months, to see Santa and the Easter bunny. He's fine! He enjoyed it! He tried to pull Santa's beard off. Then, when I sat him on the Easter bunny's lap he started to eat his face so I had him stand by the bunny. In other words, take him to see the bunny. He'll be fine! If you're concern about germs then you might want to mentally prepare yourself for when he crawls. Also, he'll discover himself down there and just wait until he decides to touch it then put his fingers in his mouth to taste. You can't avoid germs only deal with them. c: Don't get me wrong, you're a good mom for being concerned but you don't need to worry!
The only thing I would worry about is rather or not the bunny would scare him. I did see some babies get scared when I was in line. So, if he acts scare just by looking at him then you might want to second think it.

The malls usually screen any employees for criminal convictions or pending litigation. It's probably safe to take him from that standpoint, but I think the germ situation is less hopeful. My pediatrician recommended waiting until 4 months of age before putting my child in a nursery or other situation where other children were present.

I only take my kids to see Santa and it's actully at a tree lighting we have here not at the mall.. I don't really shop at the mall so I don't have to worry about them wanting to see Santa or the Easter bunny there... I know that some easter egg hunts that are done around town an easter bunny is there and that is good for older kids.. But your baby is young still a cute little stuffed animal bunny would be good and if it's the picture you are looking for you can always bring in a stuffed easter bunny to any portrait studio and they can put it in the picture with him... Happy Easter!!!

lmao - unless your child is immuno compromised - go. He's nearly 3 months old - HELLO WORLD.

What is a pedophile going to do through that costume? They have recently outed some pediatrician pedophiles, all you can do is never leave your child alone with strangers. The easter bunny person (its often a girl) is safer than your pediatrician who has your kid get naked almost the minute they walk through the door.
