Might not make it to hospital for birth

Need advice on not making it to intended birthing place. Since extremely fast (15minutes-1hour) labor runs in my family I'm afraid I won't make it the hour to the hospital.

If you see this, leave this form field blank.

Again I will say that just because your family have all had fast births doesn't mean you will.

All the females in my family on both sides had a decent bust but I didn't! I'm talking about both my Father's and Mother's side going back a couple of generations and ended up with nothing!!!!

Just like my cousin has very fast labors and I usually have average ones (except for #2).

Just because they CAN be hereditary doesn't mean they WILL be.

Family history. My grandmother 3 kids 15-30 minutes. My great aunt (grandmother's sister) 4 kids all 40 minutes. My mom 1 hour both kids (me and my brother). My sister 1 hour with my niece. My aunt 1 hour with my cousin. These are all start to finish times. Fast labors can be hereditary and from what has happened with every other female in my family who chose to have kids they're very fast. Plus there's absolutely no warning. No braxton hicks contractions, nothing. Basically the water breaks and 15 minutes to an hour later out comes a baby. There's no one I know who lives close to the hospital and because of my insurance that's the closest hospital. I live in a very rural area. I'm starting to consider an unassisted home birth. I've never been comfortable with the idea of a hospital birth. Before moving back to California I was going to have a midwife in a birth center that I found to be very homelike. Even then I didn't like the idea of having someone there with me. I'm definitely more of a "I'll just do it myself" kind of person which is also how I feel about giving birth. I don't actually think giving birth in a hospital is necessary for me. I do think there are circumstances when it is important for woman to give birth in a hospital but since I'm extremely healthy, young and haven't had any problems with this pregnancy (not even morning sickness), I feel confident that I can do it alone. I was having my doubts when I posted this and I don't know why my full post didn't actually post but now after thinking about how I truly feel about childbirth, how I've always felt and reading up on unassisted birth I think I just found the solution to my "problem."

Is this your history or other family members?

If it's others there is no way to know what will happen with yours, just because the others in your family have very short labors yours could go for ages.

If it's yours then maybe see if you can stay with friends or family close to the hospital or change hospitals.

Just remember that EVERY pregnancy, labor and birth are all different and what happened to your Mother probably WON'T happen to you. It's also different for your own. My first was 10.5 hours, my 2nd 50 mins and my 3rd 4 hours.
