Hi ladies, our 4 year old son has Mollescum currently and it is a nightmare but we have it manageable now. We ordered Dr. Wheatgrass Spray through Amazon $41 for one bottle(typically last about 5 weeks). We spray our son after bath time and in the morning and night. This spray prevents the rash and makes the bumps heel quickly. The spray is also good for eczema, we opted for the spray rather than cream as I thought rubbing cream on would make them spread more. This spray is all natural and basically acts as a nutrient for the body and helps fight them off. Of course you will still have new outbreaks as this Mollescum is a virus. Our son had about 300 on one side and now is down to about 80 or so but let me tell you the spray has helped. Feel free to email me with other questions, nheller13@msn.

Oh we also were doing the burning treatments at the doctors every 4 weeks, horrible! Even though I don't want to continue the burning treatments, I do believe they too are beneficial.

I had never heard of this before so I googled it. These are some of the things they suggested, maybe you could take the list to a homeopathic doctor and see what he/she says. good luck

Listen to me! My daughter and her cousin had this and they both went through burning off treatments at the primary care physician. No luck. We researched on line for advise and came across Silvercure. It worked! It took about a month or so. Doctors don't have time to research things that are over the counter. They just don't know about this treatment. It is well worth trying it out.

I am happy to report that my daughter is practically clear of molluscum.  It was a nightmare as I refused to let it run its course as the pediatrician recommended.  We saw a dermatologist twice- she applied Blister Beetle to about 15 bumps each visit- I won't lie it was painful for my daughter for the next couple days afterwards as the bumps blistered up.  We continued to use Aldera and have seen wonderful results.  We cancelled her 3rd appointment as she only has about 3 bumps left- all looking about to pop any day now- no new bumps have appeared in about the past month.  She does have many red spots from the blisters but these continue to fade each day (I do apply vitamin e to prevent scarring).  My worst fear did come true as my 15 month old son has caught this awful virus- in the early stages right now but I did begin to apply Aldera to the bumps- hope to rid him of these quickly before summer arrives.

when my daughgter was 2 she had molluscum. I took her to a dermatologist right away. We were first prescribed aldera which did not do anything to it. then they finally prescribed retin A , which at the beginning made her skin very dried but after like two months or so they disappeared. also i would give her baths with avenno bath treatment. it like a powder you pour in the bathtub and let her be in there for at least 30 minutes. that treatment helped her with the itching and it also helped her cured the molluscum. she di have a freeze treatment at the doctors office. she would have to go every two weeks for that. the treatment does not hurt but a 2 yr old does not like to be picked especially on little bumps.

Check on Dr.weil.com site for information..I'm not sure if he has anything but you can check..I also would recommend a chiropractor/alternative doctor..be careful and get a very good one...good luck

How do you scrap them off? Do you just use your fingernail or a special tool? My 4 year old is covered in these things and they are just spreading like crazy. We were told to put retin-A on them which just makes the whole area raw and dry and then burns for the next application. I picked one off (and it hasn't come back) but now I have to promise not to "pick" or he won't let me put the medicine on them. We go back to the doctor next Friday but in the meantime I am at a loss of what to do. I just want them off my kid!

Well, after one month of scraping the ripe bumps off and containing the white cores as much as possible, we are down to about 6 bumps from 25+. It has been a little traumatic for both of us, especially in the beginning when we were 'popping' 3 or 4 at a time. Now it is 1 every few weeks, and I have definilty seen a decrease in the spread. I have to pay close attention and catch them when they are just right, and they come off quite easily. We use tea tree oil, and a few have even disappeared without any 'popping'. We have also stopped all baths and started using fresh towels every day.



My 6 month old has had one on his arm for a few months, and I am just waiting for it to be ready to scrape off. I am hopeful he might only have the one and we can avoid it spreading.



The aldara was a nightmare and IMO caused alot of the spreading and inflamation around the rash. It dried out her skin and caused her to itch.



My neice (Who gave us this lovely virus) had this infection for over 2 years. Her parents just let it run it's course, and it did disappear on it's own. But it was really ugly and contagious in the meantime.

My daughter had molluscum when she was younger (she is now 9).  We just waited for it to clear up and it did with no scarring or re-occurances.

Any other parents out there who have dealt with this harmless but nasty virus, I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas on how to get a handle on this.

 my son had Molluscum on his lower abdomen his Dr. had me put Differin cream (also used for acne)  on it every night .  We did this for about 3 months and he had one that was worse than the rest froze off ... they gave him a numbing shot first.  This was 2 years ago and we have never seen it again !!!!  Hope this helps !

I don't know anything about this virus, but my daughter is suffering from allergies & very dry skin. I thinking of trying a holistic approach that my chiropractor suggestd. I too have been dealing with this nightmare for about 9 months on  my 5 1/2 year old daughter.  What started out as one bump on her knee was diagnosed as molluscum from our pediatrician- she too said to wait it out.  Never heard of this condition- so I heavily researched it and became obsessed with treating it.  Ordered an on-line product- a type of oil to be applied 3 times a day.  Did not work.  Her body must have at least 25 bumps of various sizes.  Saw a dermatologist 4 weeks ago and she applied blister beetle to about 8 bumps- very painful the first few days.  Said the outbreak is so bad due to the dry skin.  We too are using alderma (very pricy!)- have not seen too much of a change yet.  We go back in 2 weeks for another treatment.  Worst nightmare came true when I discovered one molluscum bump on my 14 months old son  now.  I feel like this condition has taken over our lives- I have become obsessed with getting it cured.  My daughter has been such a good sport!  I would love to hear any info you can share with me.
