Hi Janeille,
We have the hall light on and a the door open, it was suggested to me by another friend but seems to have not changed anything. Not sure if it is silly to mention this to a doctor, or if that is a little extreme as she is not ill........................and she seems fine the next day like she has slept soundly all night, its me that is suffering! lol x

Hi Becky,

My nephew had nightmares like that when he was that age, we put a nightlight in the hall and left his door open a little bit so he could see the light.

My little girl slept through the night from birth but after the birth of my son (feb 2008) she wakes up all the time. Last night and the night before every hour and a half! I think she is having nightmares but not sure what to do about them, she does not watch anything that would cause them and she loves reading books (she is three) always has to have a princess story of some kind before bed. Some times they are quite violent dreams and she seems to manage to throw herself out of bed! Its so horrible not knowing what to do to help her

Make sure you go to bed once you are sleepy. If you can't fall asleep don't stay in bed tossing and turning. Get up and read a book or a magazine or watch some tv and go back to bed once you are drowzy. You can try a hot bath to help relaxe you before bed and if you use lavender oils it helps to relax and soothe to help you sleep. Don't feel guilty about sleeping through the night if on the off chance that your child wakes up even if you are sleeping you will hear her and you will wake up. There are several relaxation exercises that you can try when you are lying in bed...it's simple you start by imagining your toes feeling heavy and falling asleep and you slowly work your way up your body.....I usually fall asleep by the time I get to my hips. Good luck and sweet dreams.

500 mg of calcium with magnesium will help shut off your system so that you can sleep...its a heaven sent remedy, i can even sleep through my husbands snoring...!

Aw
I had the same problem.
The best way I dealt with it was, To have a really really really warm bath before bed, and drink some milk and watch tv quietly in the room .
Hubby cuddles are always good too!
Those helped me alot

Good luck!

Do you think you have a sleep disorder? You could try getting eight hours (no less and not much more), don't eat, watch TV in bed use it only for sleeping. Take an hour or so to relax before bed. Try Kava Kava or St John's Wort as directed on the bottle. Don't consume caffeine after noon.
