Is there anything or any one with advice about moms that have special needs? Such as chronic health problems with Diabetes or Thyroid Disease? One of my biggest challenges of being a mother is making sure I have the support I need for my illness and that does not happen too often. As we all know as a mother, we usually come last, but when we have a disease, support is what we need. Even if it is just someone to talk to about it. I have Diabetes and Thyroid issues. I feel like I not only have the full time job of staying at home and taking care of the children, but an also added strain of Diabetes. It is not an easy disease to live with and the added worry and strain is very rough, especially for my husband when he travels every week for work. Any comments or feedback?

I'm sorry to hear about your health issues. I had breast cancer when my daughter was in second grade. That was such as crazy time, only just six years old. In some ways, I blocked out my daughter's, education because my issues were overwhelming. I had the support of my husband and friends. Also, my daughter has type 1 diabetes. I know all of this must have put a tremendous strain on my husband. In all of the craziness, my husband and I tried to stick to our daily routine. I did as much as I could to help my daughter when I was not undergoing surgery or having chemo treatments. If you ever need to vent, I would be happy to listen. As of today, I am fine...knock on wood! I have also had other medical challenges as well. I am making myself sound like I am disabled, but I am not in any way disabled. I supposed I just had a run of bad luck. So, hang in there. I know it must be hard on you... My situation was such a strain at the time... If you can, try and find the good things that happen during the day and focus on them. Take care...

Do you have a under active or Over active thyroid? Cause I have a under active thyroid and it so does not help at all..plus I had diabetic when I was pregnant with my daughter now it supposedly went away after birth,,but then again I feel I still have the symptoms of diabetes something to check out..anyhow I know how you feel though. I am kind of looking for support on the same subject myself, and I came across this post.

im sorry that you are suffering and i understand that it must be very hard for you,it is very hard being a mother and having an illness as well doesnt help but us mothers are very strong and we survive a lot of things some how we find the strenght to carry on.the one thing i would say to you is dont be afraid to ask for help take time out for yourself you deserve a bit of time on your own. look after your self,
