Morning Sickness & Amount of Hair on Newborn

Not true! I've had 5 children...not an ounce of morning sickness with any of them. Some heartburn, to be expected when I got further along, and all had varying degrees of hair. However, the 2 children that had the most hair was both my daughters and not only did they have a lot of hair, but it was long as well....the youngest having hair down her back by her 1st birthday! The boys - I'd say a healthy head of hair. Not too little, not too much ;-)

I had five babies and bad morning sickness each time. I called it 24-7 sickness. (As in 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.) They all had quite a bit of hair. My now 17 year old had a full head of black hair when he was born. His hair is brown now. My youngest, now 13, was born with curly strawberry blonde hair. I had morning sickness the entire pregnancy with him. I remember fighting the nausea the morning he was born, hoping I'd go into labor that day because I was so tired of being sick!

I had really bad morning sickness the whole way through my pregnancy which I put down to the fact I was having twins. However both were born with a lot of hair and at one year look like they have 3 years worth of growth. Maybe there is something in it!

I had 16 weeks of "morning sickness" (or, as I called it, 24-hr sickness) with my first and he was pretty much bald. I'm now pregnant with my second and experiencing the exact same sickness. I'm pretty sure that the bald babies my family has always had is more of a determining factor than the sickness!

I had morning sickness and she had lots of hair, but my sister had it and no hair on the lil girl, my daughter had more hair at birth than when she was 1! Ive heard its also associated with heartburn? More hair more heartburn... which again was true with me

i was lucky enough to be pregnant at the same time as my sister and a good friend of ours. we all had babies with lots of hair and not one of us got ANY morning sickness at all!!

I suffered morning sickness through my first trimester with BOTH children and had babies with VERY little hair - more like fuzz..... I'm not buying the study...... I have a friend that had a cue-ball baby that was also very sick throughout her entire pregnancy.

I have a daughter who was born with a full head of hair and I had no morning sickness at all. I also know of another mother of a child who had a ton of hair who did not have morning sickness either. So, it's all in a mom's hormones whether their child is hairless or has a full head when they're born. I just know that for me and this other lady I know we didn't have morning sickness and both our kids were born with full heads of hair.

I so know the feeling, imagine how mortified I'd be whenever the urge to vomit hit while I was riding a packed NYC subway train. Ugh, its so embarassing but you become a pro at puking if thats any consolation.

I had tons of all day sickness up to about 5 months. My son was born with a head of hair but not quite sure of the correlation between the morning sickness and his hair. I believe i was more sick and nauseated because of chronic indigestion and constant heart burn, it can be excruciating and Tums does nothing but make you gag even more.

I heard it was heartburn that meant your kids would have alot of hair. With both of my boys, I had heartburn and was sick through my whole pregnancy and they both had a lot of hair.

I think it's just genetics and coincidences. I had severe morning sickness with both of my daughters. Hospitalized for over 9 months (total for both pregnancies). My first daughter had only a little bit of fuzzy hair but it grew in fairly quickly and my second daughter had a head full of longish hair.

I didn't have morning sickness with either of my children--my son was pretty bald but he was also very blonde. My daughter was born with so much hair that her Dad called her a monkey; she got his dark hair. I have to say I am not very inclined to believe this one at all.

Well with both of my kids I didn't have morning sickness but I did have heartburn with the first one and none with my second child but they both came out with the same amount of hair

I had the worst morning sickness in the world when i was pregnant with my twins i had to have anti sickness tablets because i couldn't keep anything down and i was told by the midwife about this old wives tales and it's blooming true my 2 came out with full heads of hair!!!! But i was also told i was having 1 boy and 1 girl by the midwife just by listening to their hearts and she was wrong (2 girls) lol !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that was not the case for me, i've had 3 children and i had morning sickness from day 1 till i delivered them, my last son i was horribly sick with and none of my kids were born with hair.

Similar story here - terrible morning sickness (hyperemisis) with both babies - one was a baldy, the other hairy (on her shoulders too poor mite!!).

I had twins, both with full heads of hair and was embarrassingly (and often publicly!) sick for a lot of my pregnancy... had to work with my feet up and desk chair reclining, with a clear path to the ladies lol

I had extreme nausea and vomiting the whole pregnancy with each of mine - so maybe that doesn't count as "morning sickness", but of my three, one had lots of hair, and the other two were quite bald.

I had morning sickness with all three of my kids. The first was almost bald! The second had a full head or really short hair and the second had a full head of long fine hair. Not exactly a ton of hear but a ton of morning sickness. My sister's children (8 of them) ALL had a full head of thick hair and she HAD morning sickness!!! Alberta

My DD was born with a full head of black hair - No morning sickness with her.

My twins both had hair, and would have had more if they hadn't been 8w early - no morning sickness with them, either.

I had severe morning sickness with this pregnancy, but baby is still in utero, so I can't tell you if he's got lots of hair or none at all!

I had zero morning sickness, and my son was born with a head full. I also read somewhere online that lots of indigestion = lots of hair. I did have bad indigestion. Of course, that could've been because I was craving fried foods!

I think it all depends on the person. I myself had morning sickness straight threw my pregnancy and my daughter had very little hair, however a friend of mine had heartburn all the way through and her boy was born with pretty close to an afro.

I had TERRIBLE morning sickness, and was on every possible medication to help with the puking and morning sickness.. diclectin, rinidtidine (sp?) and b natural suckers.. and my daughter came out with a FULL head of hair!!

I was extremely sick for the 1st 16 weeks. The 'old wives tale' that I was aware of for hairy babies is heartburn and boy did I suffer from that!!!! needless to say I had a VERY hairy little baby

I had morning sickness for the first 11weeks, after that I had none. I had some heartburn occasionally but it was very minor. My baby was born with ALOT of hair. :) & it hasn't fallen out yet either! lol

I have 4 kids. My first I was had morning sickness 24/7 for the 1st 3 months and he had very little hair. My other 3 I hardly any morning sickness at all and 2 of them had lots of hair and the 3rd a good amount. I have always heard the heartburn theory and with my 4th that was certainly true. Even water gave me heartburn with her and she definitely had the most hair.

I had morning sickness all of the times of the day for the full pregnancy. I also had major heartburn (ate tums like M&M's). Both of my boys had full heads of hair.

I had very bad morning sickness with both of my daughters. My first Daughter was born with an old man hair line which she lost very quickly and was bold until just about her first birthday. And my second daughter was born with a nice head of hair. I did deliver 3 weeks early with my first daughter though, so this could be a reason for not having a full head of hair.

I threw up from literally the day i found out i was pregnant until After (serioulsy-although that could have been the drugs) I had my daughter and she was born with a ton of hair.

Never heard that one, I always heard if you had heartburn your baby would have a bunch of hair. My mom didn't have morning sickness with me and I had a ton of hair. But I do like those old wives tales...

I had a ton of morning sickness and my daughter was born with a full head of thick hair. My best friend had just as much morning sickness as I did and when my Godson was born, he had not one hair on his head. Interesting....
