I'm in my first trimester and i am sick all day long. I'm hungry all day and yet I'm too sick to my stomach to eat. But sometimes when I have fruit it makes me feel better. I can't even drink anything. I have like no life right now. i'm so sick I lay in bed all day and then I can't sleep. I can't function. Do any of you have an suggestions? Please help me.

I have three children and my boys never made me feel sick at all there pregnancy was a breeze. My daughter on the other hand made me really sick and all I could eat for 16 weeks was fresh pineapple. It was the only thing that did not turn my stomach. Things were so bad that at times I could not stand up I just felt sea sick all the time, and couldn't get off the boat! I waited for 16 weeks to come as the midwife said things settle then but I continued to feel ill until 22 weeks when finally things got easier and I could eat again.

The midwifes advice was to eat digestive biscuits before getting out of bed and to have small snacks every coupld of hours rather than a heavy meal. This did not work for me but it may for you. Believe me since having my daughter a couple of years ago the only thing now that turns my stomach is pineapple!

It sounds like you are one of the many women who suffer from hyperemesis gravidarum (HG). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperemesis...

Talk to your healthcare provider about medications you can take to help control the nausea. For some women (like me) they work wonders and make it possible to keep food down. This *is* a serious condition and needs to be controlled. Some women suffer from HG so badly that they are hospitalized and some have even died. Talk to your doctor about medications. The most commonly prescribed are phenergan and zofran.

I was like that with my son for the first three months or so. I was nausiated all day long and could not eat anything. I drank so much Sprite or water I got sick of them entirely. I did however get to eat once a day when the nausea was not so bad and I would fill an entire dinner plate and try to eat all of it because sometimes it would be 24 hours before I could eat something again or even longer depending on nausea spells.

I was like that it normally gets better over time you learn what you can and can't eat with your pregnancy. Try having toast or something when you get up. There are morning sickness tablets that have ginger in them they're suppose to help didn't do much for me but might be different for you. Avoid processed cheeses and yogurt too.

I know how you feel. I had the same feeling with all 4 of my pregnancies (my boys were worse than my girls). Just try to think of some things and if the thought of them don't turn your stomach, then try eating/drinking them. The one thing that worked with all my pregnancies was mint tea. You could also ask your OB for a perscription of phenergan.
