My 1 year old having gas pains...

My 1 year old son woke up screaming his head off. My husband or myself couldnt do anything with him.. not even hold him. At first I thought it was his teeth because he is having a hard time cutting a molar. We could tell he was in horrible pain and then my husband noticed his stomach was as hard as a brick.. literally! He has the most sensitive stomach and has to drink soy milk and we have to really watch what he eats. He was awake for little over an hour untill he finally passed back out in my husbands arms. I was ready to take him to the emergency room because ive never seen him in this much pain. I guess im wondering if anyone else has gone through this with their child? I just dont think a 13 month old should be in so much pain because of their stomach...

My daughter is 13 months old and going through the same thing. I cry knowing how much pain she is in and can't figure out why. Did she get better? Please help

Thank you for the comment! I already know that he is allergic to peanuts and he does pretty good when I dont give him dairy but he loves it! My husband and I discussed today that we were going to eliminate all dairy and see how he does. Im definatly ready for my baby to be happy all the time!

My daughter experiences this quite often. When she was born she immediately started having problems with stomach pain. She would screem for hours on end, she also did not have a bowel movement on her own. Long story short, finally at 10 months old and after a long list of test and procedures, we had her allergy tested. She was allergice to milk, all dairy, wheat, eggs, peanuts, and shell fish. Within one week of eliminating all of this from her diet, she was a completely different child. She stopped screeming and started having bowel movements on her own and she also came off of all medications. i wish i had known to test her earlier because i felt so guilty because of all the pain she had been in. it is difficult to adjust to eliminating all of this from her diet, but it is wonderful to have a happy child. She is 4 years old now and doing well.

Aaah yes I remember those days as well with my daughter. What helps and even helps us adults is drinking warm liquids as well as giving some phayzme or little tummies. With little ones it's hard to do, but if you can get them to lay flat with their hiney higher then their head it helps the gas to move faster. Good luck!

We used to get it at walmart. It comes in liquid form and it helps to relieve bloating and the pains that come with gas. I don't know if you have ever heard of GasX for adults but it is along that line of otc meds. Because our son would always throw up any liquid meds we just put drops in his bottle and he never knew the difference.

When my son was little, he had gas pains. We ended up changing his formula and going to soy as well. To help relieve the gas pains we gave him phazyme and it really helped out. Another thing is when he took a bottle we would elevate his head instead of him lying back in our arms.
