I don't blame her. Pads are a pain. As Kaitlin suggests, you can buy her the slender ones, and just show her how to use them (you can use an almost-closed fist to represent the vaginal opening).

What are your concerns about her using tampons? You seem quite panicked.

Nope, she's not too young. Just be honest with her and say, "I'm a bit nervous, because when my mom tried to explain it to me, she botched it up, and I don't want to do that with you." She'll likely appreciate your candor.

get the very slender ones to start with. You can either show her how yourself, or give her a hand mirror to help her figure it out. If you don't want her to use tampons, try the diva cup.

buy he a box of slim plastic applicator tampons and either let her figure them out by herself using the directions that come in the box or she could probably youtube it to find out how

i wasnt too sure if it was ok for an 11 year old to se them. I see the benifits for her but i was a bit worried that she is too young .

Not sure if you can still get them, but when I was learning to use tampons I started with "applicator tampons". The tampon itself is housed in a very thin tube that is inserted into the vagina and then you push the bottom half of the tube to meet the top half of the tube and voila, the tampon is in place. Perfect for a young girl to start with.

Do you not want her to use tampons? Or just worried about how to teach her how to use them?
