My 14yr old daughter and 7yr old son are either bickering and fighting or getting along like angels. It is usually the bickering and fighting. He loves to pester her and she loves to holler at him. When they get in trouble, they come together and quietly get along and connive something. It is so annoying. But I would have to say pretty normal. Atleast they don't pound on each other like me and brother did! LOL Thank goodness the age gap stops that!

It's really common! An age gap that size makes it so neither enjoys activities of the other, overall. The 7 year old wants to BE the 14 year old, and the 14 year old wants to be left alone. Just do what you can to make sure things are fair for both of them, explain to your 14 year old that her younger sister really respects and is jealous of her, so could she please pick things to spend a little time each day with her doing something fun, and talk to the 7 year old about how she's still a little girl and just has to grow up and earn some of the things she wants to do that the 14 year old can. Make sure you then let them each do things with their own friends and on their own that is more age appropriate for each of them. Try to get at least the 7 year old involved in activities with other children her age (4H, girl scouts, etc).
