She's got the pustules ( i think thats what you call them) on her arms, legs and face but none on her torso, they haven't burst yet so thankfully aren't itchy yet. Is there anything else this could be other than chicken pox? What preferably natural things will help to best soothe the itching.

Just an update, although they really looked like chick pox and I got all ready for the big itch, its never happened.  They just scabbed over and went away but she never got itchy so I don't know if it was chicken pox or not!

Hi, my boy had this at about 2 1/2 years its difficult when they are so young and don't understand, we used the calamine lotion all over, which really helps. But if they get too itchy sometimes a bath with baking soda in it (about 2 tablespoons) really helps, it just soothes the spots for them. Also my sister (who is a nurse) advised not to use calprofen to help settle them at night if they are feverish or having problems sleeping - apparently its not good for them when they have chickenpox - just use a mild calpol. hope this helps.

You can be quite sure it´s chicken pox if she has them on the head or face! In Sweden we use potato flour to soothe the itching.

hi my 3 boys had chicken pox about 6 months ago now one after each other (nightmare) my youngest got the least spots but was still scattered everywhere. they usually start with a red spot then get a blister in the middle. there usually itchy while the blister is there and this is while there still contageous when they have all scabbed and not weeping there no longer contagious. for the itching i covered them in calomine lotion not expensive about 60p from tesco (made them look like litle ghosts lol) hope this helps charlie xxx
