it could be an ear infection too - my son just last week was running a fever for a few days with a terrible cough/runny nose. when we got into the dr he had a bad ear infection (never showed any signs of his ear hurting) and once he got on meds for it the cough and nose cleared up. the ears were draining down the back of his throat causing the cough/nose. my dr always recommends taking a child in to get checked out if the fever lasts more then two or three days so i would take him in for sure. good luck and hope he's feeling better soon

Is your child coughing or wheezing? Have you given any type of fever reducer?

My daughter kept getting a fever for a few days of about 99-101 using the under the armpit method and i kept giving her tylenol and not covering her up at night, shes been to the doctors, he says there is nothing wrong with her..... she might just have a small viral infection. she only has the fever at night tho so i really make sure i keep her cool and give her the tylenol.

It is time to take him to the doctor..if a fever that high lasts more than 3 days go to the doctor. Also, not all medications work for all children...or people for that matter. Try another medication. My brother was and still is resistant to tylenol it doesnt work for him.

He MIGHT have Bacterial Pneumonia....I would take him to see a doctor. It seems like EXACTLY the same thing as my 3 year old daughter had....She was running a fever of 102.6 under her arm...I would give her Tylenol and it brought her fever down to 100.8 but that's as low as it would go...this kept up for at least 3-4 days before I was able to get her into the doctor. Glad I did too b/c she was having trouble breathing at that point.
