I do not know if anyone mention this.... but something up the nose can be very serious, besides infections, it can be inhaled into the lungs, not good.

Glad too the nose is fixed!
All my kids but one stuck something up their nose that required an ER visit! The last one was Claire and it was a Barbie Shoe

My daughter put a bead up her nose at daycare. The cook put some pepper in her hand and got her to sniff it, she sneezed and out came the bead !!

i worked in a daycare about 15 years ago and this happened during nap time. There was a little girl that got a bead in her nose; we ended up having to call her dad and 911. Needless to say the little girl was upset but the paramedics did end up getting it out no problem

Take her to the hospital or Dr office. NEVER try a vacuum cleaner!! EVER!! I have 6 grown children and raising my 2 grandchildren as well as have been a peds nurse for 20 years, if (and when) things are stuck in ears or noses (or other places easily accessible by little fingers, if you get what I mean) take the child to the Dr, hospital or urgent care. It needs to come out ASAP. It is just part of having little ones, they are curious about their bodies. One of my daughters was almost 5 when she stopped putting things up her nose. Good luck!

You can try 1 of 2 things. When I was a baby i stuck a couple pieces of the cereal Kix up my nose. My mom couldn't figure out how to get it out so she made me cry and then covered my nose when I took a big breath and I shot them out. My 3 year old son had done the same thing but not with cereal. He stuck a piece of an acorn up his nose. We tried EVERYTHING even making him cry and it would NOT come out. So it was $1200 trip to the emergency room for us. Your not alone with this one, so good luck :) You laugh about it later :D

lisa, actually i have. one in the ear...small bead from his sisters bead set and a bead up his nose. worked like a champ!!! now don't get me wrong had it not come out to the er i would've gone, but they both came out. luckily my son loves the vacuum cleaner...lol

its always scary when kids stick something in places they don't belong nose or even ears. i had a pearl in my ear though it fell out after my mom made an appointment to have it surgerically removed the following day. i also experienced one of my kids putting piece of her diaper in her nose and that wasn't pretty either. we did everything and ended up bring her in to the doctor. that would be the only part you can do at this point since it's not moving at all. they wil not do anything to hurt her just remove it safely and i doubt they would have to surgerically remove it from her these days. they have tools that will get it out in the office. good luck. i hope that everything goes well for you and your daughter.

When my daughter was young she stuck an uncooked bean in her nose. I was frantic about it but her Great Grandma told me just to gently breath in her mouth and shut the other nostril close that was clear and the bean flew out. She was a cook at the local elementary school and this had happened to her with some of the kids there

Glad you got it sorted.....My 2.5yr old (at the time) stuck the paper from round a crayon up one nostril once and we only found out because it started smelling.....We took her to the doctor and they said yes there was something there but they couldnt get it out and to return if it didnt come out on its own in a couple of days, we didn't like the idea of it being up her nose for longer than it needed to. We ended up going to the pharmacy and getting a Nasal rinse kit which uses a saline solution., squirted it up the clear nostril which put gentle pressure behind the blockage and it came out easy! Glad to say she hasn't done it since!!

have her sniff black pepper it will make her sneeze. I did that to my daughter when she stuck a bead up her nose and it came right out...couldn't believe it!

You need to take her to the ER or pediatrician. They can get it out.

Thank god you had taken her to a doctor. as it is dangerous to find a remedy ourselves. My friend's son had a seed stuck in his nose for a long time his mom didn't take him to a doc thinking it wasn't painful. in the end the seed had sprouted roots in his nose and they had to perform a minor surgry to remove the see. So for all mothers in future any foreign object stuck any part of the body of your child pls do not take it lightly.

I have had this happen to me twice. What you need to do is block the nostril that is not blocked and put your mouth over your child's mouth and blow as hard as you can. This will usually work if it is not too far up. I took my daughter to the emergency ward and the doctor suggested I do that in front of him to get it out so I am guessing it is perfectly safe.

When my 8 year old was 3 she shoved an entire mini box of raisins up her nose. Both nostrils! I was called from work to her daycare to get her to the ER. When I got there I just had her blow what she could out and plugged up each nostril at a time to blow out the rest. I took her to a scheduled doc appt like 2 days later and she removed one more! When I asked my girl why she did it, she said "just to see if I could, I won't do it again, cuz now I know I can!"

Glad you were able to get some help with this. My son did a lot of this around age 2. Peas in his ears, cereal in his nose, which came out a few days later. I didn't know about it but he sneezed really hard and a piece of rice chex came out.*+ q It looked like rice chex, but the color was disgusting. He also liked to put macaroni up his nose so much that he later thought that's where macaroni and cheese came from. Then once when he had a cold with a runny nose and he sneezed and licked his upper lip saying, "Mmm, dat's good macanoni and cheese!" I had a lovely view of this from the rear view mirror. BLECH!

Sorry for the slow response. We had to take ours to the hospital to get it out. They restrained his head and had an instrument that could go in and pop it out without hurting tissue. Our son was happy because he got stickers and candy and didn't seem stressed by it.

My son used to put all kinds of objects in his nose,our family Dr. advised me to sit him in a chair have someone put their fingers in his ears while I pushed his other nostral closed and blow as hard as I could into his mouth. The item usually exited or at least came down far enough to be removed. Good luck!

I would take her in the the doctor. My 4 year old stuck a rock in his ear and I couldn't get it out. The nurse said that in the nose is a lot worse because of all the glands in there. Plus anything foreign up the nose can lead to an infection if it goes too long. Good luck!!

I taken her to ER and they had removed it from her. They said its common for that age for kids to be putting things up their nose.. and its best not to try and remove it as you could of push it further up her nose. They would of have to sedate her. It could also become infected and become painful for her if you leave it their any longer then a day. Thanks everyone for thier great advice as it did help.

Do not hesitate bringing your child to the ER, a foreign body in the nose is always an emergency as it can cause further harm if swallowed or aspirated. Removing a foreign body in the esophagus or the bronchus is more complicated and life-threatening.

Go to an Ear, Nose, Throat doctor. He has instruments to pull that out. The problem with pulling it yourself is you might get it stuck farther into the nose making it difficult for the doctor to remove without putting her to sleep. Or you if you do it yourself it might slip into the mouth and she might swallow it or worse aspirate it into her lungs. The best is prevention. Do not put anything around him that can be swallowed, aspirated or put into holes in the body. That age is very curious. No earrings, small toys. Be careful with nuts or do not give him that at all. I am saying these because I have seen so much in my practice as an ENT doctor.

You can try to gently blow in her mouth and it might dislodge it from her nose, this was recommended to us by our doctor when my son put a peanut in his nose. His problem was it was only a half so it didn't completely block the passage so we couldn't blow it out. We took him to the emergency room and they had to wrap him up in a blanket while I held his head and the used giant tong/tweezers to get it out. He was about 2.5 when this happened and I think he remembered since he has yet to put anything else up there.

I stuck a cherry pit up my nose as a toddler and my mom had to take me to the ER. My now 8 year old stuck earrings and ham in her ear! We didn't have to go to the doc until she stuck an un-popped kernel of popcorn in her ear and it got stuck, very unpleasant trip to Ear, Nose, Throat doc! My son stuck a pea up his nose once, we had to go to the emergency room to get it out. The problem is if it isn't removed it can cause an infection, a discharge, and a bad odor so it's best to get it removed and if you try to get it out yourself you risk the chance of pushing it back deeper.

I was thinking of taking her to the hospital... but she not in pain. I wasnt sure if the hosital would want to see her. I was hopping it wuld just come out..

When my brother got candy stuck up his nose, my mom had to take him to the hospital because nothing she tried worked, so yea, I'd check with a doctor.
