There is this stuff called Calmoseptine Ointment you have to get it at probably a home care shop. My doctor told me about it and it works very good. The bottle I have has a website www.calmoseptineointment.com. Good Luck!

My son had a rash like that and the only thing that helped him was called Vusion, its prescription though, but within hours you could notice his relief. He would cry every time I tried to touch that area.

This stuff is the best: OxyBoost. It works like a charm!

If that doesn't work, it could be a yeast infection, in which case Lotrimin (over the counter) should clear it right up. :)

it may be as simple as his diaper. Even if he has been in the same kind for a while. My son went thru this when he was a year old. And I tried everything, finally the doc told me to switch brands of diapers even though he had been wearing the Parents choice for like 6 months with no problems. I switched him to Luvs and within a few days his rash went away and didn't return.

Caldesene (sp?) powder works like magic. Its in a pink container and is the only one that our sons day care provider would swear by after 15 years of working with kids. We used it for our son and the diaper rash cleared up right away,

Have you tried the a&D without the zinc? It is with the gold and brown tube. My kids had a hard time with anything that had zinc in it.

I experienced that with my son, Jacob now 1. Have you heard of Maizena? You can buy it at the supermarket it comes in a yellow and white box. You take a few spoons of it and warm it up. Put it inside a clean sox. Tie the sox in a not and use it as a Powder puff. Apply it every time you change his diaper and the rash will disappear in a matter of a day or two. Trust me It really works.

I had a similar experience with my oldest, talk to your pediatrician. Ours turned out to be a yeast infection. The pediatrician prescribed Nystatin and it cleared up in 24 hrs. Ours was really bad, raw red bottom and I couldn't keep a diaper on him due to his discomfort, his was at about 3 months of age.

Only thing worked on my oldest was fried flour, use a plain dry frying pan and fry regular white flour until it is golden, use when cooled like powder (old native american trick), for my daughter, that wouldn't work either, only thing that worked was petroleum jelly, it allowed everything to stay away from her skin long enough for her to heal. Doctor's don't know of these and were not able to help me though they tried. Hope this helps if they can't! I had bad diaper rash as a youngster myself, apparently! :-)

After I have tried a few things and it has not gone away I put some baking soda in the bath and just let them sit and play for a bit. I swear by it. It has never failed me. My grandma told me this tip with my first daughter and it works everytime. By morning it will be gone!! Good luck..

You can try Baby Care Lanoderm. It has worked for my son when nothing else did. But make sure his bottom is completely dry before applying. I used a hair dryer on cold setting. Good luck!

Try putting corn flour all over and then putting the diaper on. Do this a few times and it should help. If really bad, beat egg white til stiff and put it on the sore bits - leave diaper off for a while til it dries a bit then put diaper on.

My 1st baby had TERRIBLE nappy rash and after getting cream from the doc which did nothing I saw these tips in a Baby magazine and they were all that helped. Hope it works for you.

Dr. Smith's and balmex ointments work really well for my girls. When those don't work Doc prescribes Vusion. That works wonders quickly.

Corn starch. My daughter had a severe case of diaper rash and someone told me about this. I tried it and I have to tell you I never went back. Sprinkle the corn starch on your babies body part and don't be afraid to sprinkle on alot. The more ,the better. Yes it is messy, but your baby will not have another diaper rash as long as you use this daily. This , BTW, is non toxic as well. Corn starch is known for it's absorbency properties.

Hiney Healer is the best thing since sliced bread when it comes to diaper rash. I think it took one day to resolve a few of my son's rashes. It doesn't stink, stain, etc....it is awesome. You can sometimes find it at Medicap (Indianola) otherwise you can go to the website and order it. http://www.medcara.com/hiney_healer/

My youngest had a yeast rash for a month, nothing seemed to help including over the counter anti-fungals, until a friend suggested Crisco. I had his bottom cleared up completely in about 1-2 weeks and he wasn't screaming in pain during that time either. Yes Crisco! It is cheap and works fantastically on baby bottoms!

My daughter has only had it once and I wiped her with cotton wool and cooled boiled water at each nappy change (I never use wipes) and use zinc and caster oil as the cream. I take her nappy off for half an hour before a bath to let the skin "breathe" each night and dont put anything in the bath water. A very good cream which clears it fast is Bepanthen -this was recomended to me by my sister in-law and is used by a lot of mums i know who swear by it. Hope that helps a little.

Hi ms Amanda   my name is La Verne you might try buying a Aloe Vera plant. Look for one at the Whole foods market  or maybe walmarts.Take a leaf slice it open anyway you can to release juices, slice lengthwise, slice thinly ,take thin slices rub juices on baby butt and no commercial diaper til booty is healed ! Try using cloth diapers or clean hand towel and 2 big safety pins to cover baby booty

You might want to consider cloth diapering. Some babies develop an allergic reaction to all the chemicals in disposable diapers. Cloth diapering can save you a substanial amount of money during your baby's diapering years. You can get quite a bit of info about it at http://www.balterbaby.com/diapers-happy-...

I hope this helps!

you need to get a compound made for the diaper rash. my son had it really bad and they gave me a cream that was a compound and it does awesome! it is called Nystatin:Zinc Oxide HC 60GM. that is the name of the cream that they made for me at the pharmacy and trust me it works. may take a couple of days, but it does work. also get some aveeno wash. it is for senstive skin and good to wash the baby with when they have a bad diaper rash. also keep up the changing every 2 hours.if you need anything else, let me know and email me.

PS give him some tyenol to ease the pain of the rash on the booty.

I had this problem with my first son and all I found that worked when it got really bad was Ihles's paste. It is sometimes hard to get but if you ask a pharmasist they should be able to get some for you. It is really thick and helps clear it up (kinda messy but if works!!!)

Try baking soda in bath water nothing else. when you get him out dry really well put on the diper rash cream and baby powder with cornstarch. ( the baby powder with the cornstarch pulls wetness away so that when he does go potty its being pulled away from the rash. The baking soda in the bath has helped my kis a lot then put on the cream it add a protection barrer
