When Kamryn was born we always did the best routine in her bed in her room all the way up till 3.5yrs old we bought our house in Nov. 08 and immediately had rodents in our attic which scared her and quite frankly made me nervous and disgusted(what if it got in the house before we go it out of the attic) Now it has been resolved for over 9months and she has gotten quite used to our bed and I do not know how to do the transition to make her and I comfortable with the switch. I feel paranoid we both wont get the same good nights sleep if make the transition, any suggestions....? My husband thinks I should just do it already her room is next to ours and she has a full size bed =(....

Maybe use Christmas comming to your advantage, Santa could bring some new princess pillowcases, sheets, comforter, curtains etc. for her bed. Try a night light too, my dd won't go to bed without one. Maybe one of those tapes of classical music or nature sounds or what ever could stop any bumps in the night from scaring her. Do storey in her room and make a routine, brush teeth, storey, tuck in, night night kiss etc. to make future bedtimes easier. Maybe Mommy could camp out for a few nights in her room to show her its ok, be creative I'm sure after you get that initial few nights out of the way things will be fine. Good luck!

My 4 year old son is scared of night monsters. My friend suggested we make monster potion. Take a spray bottle and some water, let them put a mixture of spices, My son put a cinnamon stick and cloves and herbs, lol. when he's scared at night he can spray, this is his 5 night in his room, without make any fuss, just asking for his bottle.
I hear him use it until he falls asleep.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Tell her:

"OOHHHH Tonight you are going to sleep in the big girl bed! Mommy got you a new teddy for cuddling and he won't mind if you kick him or roll over on him, or whack him in the face while flopping over!!"

And just do it. Don't make a big deal out of it and hopefully she won't either.

My daughter is 2 & still sleeps in my queen size bed w/ me. Her father works nights, so it works out. But we don't have heating ducts in our bedrooms. So I turn the furnace down at night and run a heater in my room for me and the baby to keep us warm and to keep heating costs down. People say I shouldn't let her sleep w/ me, but I don't care. I don't have the $ to buy her a toddler bed right now and i don't feel safe putting a heater in her room & closing the door. I like her right next to me so I can make sure she's safe.
