At his age he's old enough to know better, but at the same time you can't make this into a power struggle.
Kids control two things: what goes in and what comes out.
At his age it may be about a power struggle, does he have other things he controls in his life? Can you try to give him a little bit of power somehow where he's allowed to choose what he does in other situations? Obviously he can't do anything but giving kids choices or the power to choose other things sometimes helps.
He's old enough for you to ask him too, just say why don't you want to use the potty? If he has a reason try to find something you could do to resolve the issue (scared of the toilet? maybe he could use one of the potty seats or hold a special potty teddy, w/e...). If you ask him what he wants to do it might help out more.

Whatever you do try to make it all about him, don't push him to use it at all. Does he use a potty? I hope he's not in diapers or anything, if he uses the potty make him go put the poo into the toilet. That way you aren't responsible for cleaning everything up.

Otherwise just talk to him about it and try to find a solution with him. If he refuses make it a non-issue. The more you try to force him to do it the less likely he will.

Oh and another thing that helped a friend of mine was having an older cousin come by and use the potty with her son. If a 'cooler' older boy comes and says hey I use the toilet all the time etc. with your son he might decide hey I can do that too!

Just a thought, hope you figure things out!

My son is great when it comes to peeing. But when it comes to poop he refuses to even though I have taken away almost every toy and nothing. I also tried bribery but still nothing . Please help me.

My son did the same thing and he was scared sitting on the toilet and he didn't like the little potty chair he said it was uncomfortable. So what we did was put a stool in front of the toilet and I got a little toilet seat that fit on top of the big one. That way he could get up there himself and he didn't feel like he was holding on for dear life. It took a little time but it worked.

Is he scared? Some kids are afraid to fall in... My niece had a smaller seat to put on the toilet so she couldn't fall in it helped her a lot. I don't know any other reason why your son would not poop in the toilet... It might be a start.
