my 7 month old has a bad cold!

my son six and half months old, has got cold today. he has a running nose, and watery eyes since evening. he doesnt sleep without pacifier, i tried removing it out so that he can breathe properly, but he isnt ready to remove it. he is feeling restless, i will try rubbing vicks thing if it worsens. thnx to all u moms, the posts helped me. plz pra for my son, i have not seen him like this till date. its hrd to see ure baby helpless and crying. may all kids be ok, amen.

Don't use the regular vics, it's too strong for them, there is a baby vics you can use and I've also heard to put it in the feet, to help with chills, but not breathing. Here in Canada we have a natural producted that you can purshase at the SuperStore called 0-9 kids. There is a cough and cold one and all the ingrediants listed also list what there function is. I read something on here about putting the Vick's on their feet then putting socks on helping. Never tried it myself as it's the middle of summer and I didn't know about it last time he was sick but it might be worth a try.

when my son is sick like that and the dr says only to give him saline drops and suck out the boogies, i put on the humidifier with some vicks in it and let him sleep in his car seat. it seems to work pretty well and we both sleep better.

i know what i did with my son he was 6 mnths and we put vicks on his chest and put warm to hot dry towels on his chest and back i did that many times in a row but i know i am bad i gave him jack and jill expectorent .05 ml every 6 hrs it helped him cough and poo it out and he recovered fast i know you are not supposed to give them cough medicine but i did anyway and glad i did , he recovered in 1 week and was feeling normal in 3 weeks!

If you live where it is cold outside, sometimes hot doesn't work...but cold does. Your not giving his a cough supressant are you? It is my personal opinion... don't give cold meds unless they have a fever. At least during the day. I would give my daughter a pain reliever about 30 minutes before bed time. Or if she woke up at night. Do you have a Vicks Humidifier thing? You can stick it in his room at night so he will inhale the vapors as he sleeps. I also, prop her up when she has a cold after she falls asleep. She'll be at a 40 degree angle. That way the coughing doesn't produce sleeplessness.

my 6mnt old son has had the cold too. the dr. told us to use a cool mist air purifier. and we used the lil nose saline spray to help brake up the mucuse and we sucked it out....adn we also tried something my pharmasist suggested...we put vicki rub on his feet with socks on it helped him breath more...oh and prop him up at night when he sleeps so the mucuse drains right....

Cold are hard for our little kids, especially now that the FDA hasn't approved cold oral medication for kids under age of 6. Do as Tiffany says.. but also get baby Vicks vapor rub... after bath, rub on chest and feet - cover the feet up with socks. Also, a humidifier in his room at night with help loosen the congestion, allowing him to cough it up more easily.

putting them in a shower room will loosen the mucus in their chest, but he might not know how to get it up. I had that problem with my son when he was that age. Do the shower room, then lay him on his stomach and pat his mid to upper back. Do it hard enough to get it up, but not enough to hurt him. I would make my son cough up the mucus.
