My 7 year old little boy is my hero and this is why.....2 1/2 weeks ago my son was diagnosed with a Juvenile Pilocytic Astrocytoma (a brain tumor) within 24 hours of the find he had had brain surgery to remove it. It was the size of a tennis ball and his only symptoms were headaches. The tumor was found in his cerrebelum and it was stopping his brain from reabsorbing his spinal fluid which in turn caused hydrocyphilus (water on the brain) which was causing the headaches. It was the absolute scariest thing me as a mother has had to go through not to mention him. We spent only 9 days in the hospital after the surgery because of his amazing recovery. After all the testing it was found to be benign and the neurologist got every bit of it. Due to the fact of its location he is now doing physical therapy to strengthen his legs and to correct some minor balance issues. He held his sense of humor up until the surgery and because of that he kept me strong. Today his recovery is improving more and more and honestly he is one strong kid because if it was me I'd still be crying about it. Because of my little boy I have a whole new perspective on life and have learned not to take anything for granted!
