I bought my baby can read. I've been using it for about 2 months with my 6 month old and she loves it. We started off with the flas cards but she didn't really stay focused long enough but she loves the dvds. She is starting to speak to the tv when she watches it now and she kicks her legs when the songs she likes come on. I don't think it's a scam in anyway but it may not work for all babies and maybe people shouldn't be so quick to judge. We paid the full price from the your baby can read website but you can get it cheaper on ebay if you are not too sure and don't want to pay all that money.

I would seriously consider taking the advice from the teacher who posted before me. Baby Can Read is all memorization, no phonics or skill. What good is that?

Might as well just posted.....I am going to buy the baby can read product and I only want people who have used it and liked it to say go ahead and buy it.



Jeez, no need to get all rude because people who have not used it have taken the time to explain why they have made that choice.



If you google baby can read product reviews...you will get a crap load of sites with moms and professional educators giving reviews about the product and most of the reviews from moms and from experts say that if you are going to use the product they recommend teaching a good phonics program along with it. Incorporating phonics is important if you are going to put your children in school outside of the home because most schools teach sight words, spelling words, and base their reading programs on phonics.

thank you lena. thats all i wanted to know. i didnt need peoples opinions of this product if they hadnt used it. i just wanted to hear from the people who HAVE used it or knew someone who had USED it. your response was very helpful and i cant wait to buy this product!

I haven't bought it yet but my best friend bought it for her son who is 3 weeks younger then my son who is 18 months and he loves it. He wasn't the type who really watches tv but after a month he really got into it and now begs for it to be on. He loves the songs and he knows the whole thing of Head,shoulders knees and toes. He points to the body parts and does some of the things that they say, like clap your hands and stomp your feet. He's speaking alot more and knows how to count to 1-10, and he can pick up from where you stop at. So far she says he does pretty good with the flash cards. I, have seen her son do all these things and I'm dying to buy it for my son, who really doesn't talk yet, just a few words. I am short on money but as soon as I get extra I WILL. Just a tip, buy it on Craigslist, it's a whole lot cheaper. Instead of buying it for over $100 you can get it for about $50.

It is just a memory product. It does not teach basic phonetic connections or associations. Stick with the old fashioned a-b-cs, cccc-at. My daughter is 4 and we are teaching her to read. good old fashioned flash cards got her started.
