Hope your baby's back home and better, my baby went into to hospital at 4 mths old and it was the scariest time of my life, after 6 days of being there i ended up very ill because of lack of sleep, and believe me it wasn't being in a hospital that kept me awake, it was all the tubes in her nose and all the other horrible things they done to her and the fact that they told me i shouldn't pick her up 2 much coz she got distressed, so i knoe exactly how you felt (or still feel) and my prayers are with all of you. good luck.

We had horrible problems with constipation. HAve you tried prune juice- we gave it our daughter starting at 5 months old. Flaxseed oil is also very good as long as she gets enough water. For over the counter stuff we finally went to Miralax, but we only give our 19 month 2 tsp two times a week and it does the trick. Lots of fruit works well too as long as its prunes, peaches, plums, pears or apricots. Hope things get better soon!

I will also say a prayer. My daughter spent 112 days in the NICU wasn't supposed to live she was born at 22 weeks, no lungs, transparent skin and weighted 1 pound 1 once but with great doctors and medicine well she is perfectly healthy right now. Make sure you always get 2nd and third opinions and be the best advocate you can be for her. Doctors are human and don't know all the answers so getting several opionions is the best way too go. I got more then 3 put it that way and each one gave me a different answers. Do lots of research with everything they tell you. When your baby goes home she won't remember anything and they recover very quickly. Stay strong and with you by herside is going to make all the difference in the world. It did with mine, I had a son at home too with my parents but my daughter needed me most. My son was not affected by it he was just glad when she came home.

i understand completely two days after i left the hospital with my daughter i had to go back because my daughter wasent pooping or peeing she also wouldnt wake up to eat wouldnt wake up at all really just slept and slept. it was so scary my doctor sent us straight to the hospital were they ran many test she had her blood draw a spinal tap done she wasent even a week old yet and they asked me all these really mean and crewl things like if i had droped her >.< and if i had an STD of any kind both answers were no of corse and i know they just really needed to know those things but couldnt they have waited for the test to come back because then they would have known those answers were no because every test came back ok but she was dehidrated and so they gave her an IV i was crying my eyes out while she just screamed in her sleep it had to be one of the most horrible exsperiences of my life.. they never found out what was wrong and we ended up having to stay there for 4 days, we would of had to stay longer but her iv fell out and after trying to put it back in, in her other arm and in her hand without succsess they let us go home with her on Amoxacilin... horrible just horrible thats the only way to discribe when your babys sick. Did they ever find out what was wrong with your Daughter?

Dear Erinn,

Completely understandable how you feel thankfully you have somewhere to vent. Can your in-laws or some other family member bring your son to hospital? Usually they can stay downstairs and you and your husband could take turns ging up and down to see him and be with your daughter. I'm sure your son needs to see you too. Maybe he could pick a special toy to bring to your daughter so he feels a part of things. Maybe ask if there is someone on staff who is trained in infant massage ... this can help to relieve constipation or maybe comfort her and they can teach you how to do it. Hope you find the help you need in these answers.

My son was hospitalized when he was 6 weeks old, so we know this is scary. Most hospitals have a chaplain onstaff, use this resource! Or, call in your family priest/pastor. It is additional support to aid you in stay strong for your family. God Bless and protect your family.

Hi, I just saw your post and wanted to let you know that I am praying for your daughter, you, and the rest of your family. I will be praying for the doctors as well. Like other women have said in their posts - Put your faith in God that He will heal your daughter. He is the Master Physician and even though we don't know why the things happen that do, we know that God makes no mistakes, we just have to trust Him. We have had to trust Him when there have been stays in the hospital for reasons we still don't understand. God is so good to comfort us and to see us through!

Hi! Hang in there and touch your daughter or hug her as much as possible. Play with her even through your pain. Can she watch her favourtie cartoons and nursery rymes? I am saying this, I've been there. At 6 months my daughter started having chemo . She had a thousand tests and scans and what have you. Eventually she had a Bone Marrow transplant. I thought i was phasing out but we hung in there, my hubby and me. We played with her even when she was fully wired and what have you. Keep her morale up. love her and keep playing with her. Bless your heart.....you can write as much as you like....

Put your child in Gods hands... I know he can work miracles for I am a Greatgrandmother of a beautiful 3 months old baby girl. The doctors told us she had Small Bowel Atresia which has a strong association with Down Syndrome , when her Mother was only 5 months pregnant. My granddaughter was in and out of the hospital in premature labor for 4 months before Jillie was born. All the test they made showed the same problem and soon as the child was born she would need surgery on her colon to correct this problem . The Doctors said some times miracles happened . Prayer does help. By the many prayers of family, friends and churches and the "GRACE OF GOD" A MIRACLE HAPPENED. Jillie did not need surgery, she did not have Bowel Atresia, she only had a compacted bowel which is rare in an unborn child. THIS WAS PRAYERS ANSWERED BY GOD.
