My baby is getting older!

I get so sad thinking about my son getting older. I always heard that they grow up so fast but it really is in a flash that it happens. I never understood what my mother meant when she would say don't grow up so fast...now I do. I often wonder what kind of adult will he be. Will he remember all the hard work we put into raising him? Will he remember how I tried to make every moment with me enjoyable? How I think about him before anyone else? I'm obsessed with this boy. Maybe I need him more than he needs me. The part that makes me even sadder is that I don't think I want any other kids. I know I will regret this decession especially once my son gets older and older. I guess in the time being I'm just going to enjoy every second with him :)

Oh yes My oldest will be 5 in two months she's changed so much she has so developmental delays but all of the sudden she's SO grown up. My Youngest will be 3 in less then a month and a half. just until recently she was still a baby and I'm so sad that they are growing up. I think this is a very common mom feeling. we get so use them them being one way and then all of a sudden they aren't My third and last child will be born in 11 weeks. and I'm a little nervous about starting over again. I quite enjoy that my girls still need me but can so lots on their own.

of course ... i think all moms feel that way at one time or another, but the fact of the matter is, God gave them to us to raise them up. they are supposed to grow and become adults. we have the priviledge of shaping who they are and who they become. when i felt like that i tried to remember what my job is in parenthood. I have two grown kids, a 25 year old daughter and a 21 year old son, they are still my babies and they always will be. i now have a grandbaby from my daughter and i get to watch her train up her daughter the funny thing is she says and does so many things just like i did even thought she fought against "being like me" when she was younger. Now she calls me for advice about how to handle situations with her one year old. and i have the satisfaction of knowing i did my "mother" job well when they were young and am still doing it as they face new challenges as adults. enjoy your time with him but embrace the years as they go by. we cant stop time so make the most of it and you can look back with few regrets.

I feel like that all the time. Every time I see a new pimple, every time I see him in his smart school uniform. I felt like time goes too fast when my youngest started school this year, my son started high school, my stepson told us about how he now has pubic hair (yeah, needed to know, LOL) and my step daughter entered her final year of school (and will be graduating 2 months), got her drivers licence and we met her first "serious" boyfriend.

Time flies. And in some ways it makes me sad, but there are also many happy moments of looking at them and realising how proud I am of every one of them, and what wonderful, precious children they still are and always will be :)

My oldest will be 3 in december. I told him the other day, "Baby boy, dont grow up" He rubbed my cheek and said "But Mommy, I hafa to grow up, sorry" It was so sweet. And my baby girl is 1, but she has a small case of spina bifida and hasnt even tried to crawl untill this past week so it hasnt really hit me that she is growing up till now. She still cant crawl or stand or pull up and she turned 1 on the 9th of sept. but now that she is almost there, she seems so much older. And my son has the vocabulary of a 5 year old and you can understand everything he says and it just blows me away. He talks better than our friends kids and his cousins who are 4 and 5 so he seems older than 2 but im still in shock he is about to be 3.

i remember my mom crying on my 7th birthday and asking me not to grow up :-/ my son is only 10 months old and i feel exactly the same way!

I do :( My son's turning 3 next month. Can't imagine him being 7 though! My husband and I tried him on some big boy bikes at Wal Mart the other day and I almost lost it. He just instantly looked so much OLDER to me! Just like the one time we have cut his hair so far. He instantly aged a few years to me. So no more hair cuts lol Seriously. He'll have another hair cut when he's old enough to decide how he wants it cut :)
