My daughter is 4 months old and she has lost her voice and the doctor said she will be fine I was just wondering what can I try besides tylenol and humidifiers I have been using both. I just feel so bad hearing and seeing her in pain.

I use eucalyptus and rose geranium essential oils ... just a drop or two of each on cotton wool stuffed under the cot sheets at the sides ... good luck

Oops! So sorry about the honey! You all are right- not until they are older. All we could do with our little one was saline drops and gentle nasal aspiration. She didn't like it, but she could nurse after we did it.

when my daughter couldn't feed due to a blocked nose, i mixed up some vaseline with eucalyptus and put it on the outside of her singlet. I also put some eucalyptus oil on her cloth, near where she sleeps and burn some eucalyptus oil in an oil burner. Worked a treat for us!

BABY vicks.. yes there is such a thing and yes it does work.. do not use Adult vicks though the menthol in that is way to strong for baby's tender skin...

A hot mist bath -- basicly sit with baby on the floor in the bathroom (or on a mat) and run a hot shower.. do be careful with scalding though... and make sure the baby doesn't get too warm

Doctors actually recommend that you do nothing. Just wait it out. Sometimes that's the best you can do. My son had a cold 2 x since he was born (now 6.5 months) and often has a runny nose... If your having a problem with nose blockages use sailene water (spelling could be wrong) basickly salt and water solution.. use a dropper to let a drop into babys nose then suction it out with a bulb seringe or just leave it it should drain down baby's throat with no problems.... Make sure it's tepid not hot not cold...

The pharmasist will tell you to make sure that baby is getting enough fluids.. so may suggest a little water or watering down baby's formula a bit... that way they can flush the virus that causes the cold through they're system faster.

Hope that helps.. but a word of caution do be careful with honey. and encourage her to caugh it up as much as she can....

If you feel she's having a problem caughing up the phlem.. put baby over your lap, head slightly lower then feet, and pat her back and sides this helps break it up and get it out of her so she breaths easier... best to try doing this for at least 30 minutes

Too much of the silver will turn you blue! I use it for sore throats, but I only gargle. I don't swallow. The silver deposits will build up in your body, which is what causes the discoloration of the skin.

I'd be careful with silver for babies. But my husband says he'd give the baby the silver water...lol.

She may have to just fight off the infection. Our bodies are designed to do that.

You are not supposed to give kids under the age of 12 months honey, for sure.

To get at the root of the infection, colloidal silver is great! (I make it concentrated 10 x as strong that works really good.) It actually kills viruses, unlike a lot of things. When my daughter was that age, I made a strong tea from licorice root, and gave her a dropper ful of the tea every now and then. Be careful, though, as licorice loosens the bowels.

Take care with Honey, I am not sure you are supposed to give it to children under the age of 12 months.

It is awful, my daughter has a bad cold at the moment and she is so sick and she doesn't like feeding because she can't breathe through her nose... but yes, tylenol and humidifiers is basically it :( Just keep her fluids up and give her lots of cuddles...

She is probably congested in the nasal area as well so use saline drops. It will help break up any issues that have to do with her throat as well. You can do a menthol bath. It's called grins and giggles i think and it's green. Put some in the bath and just let her lay in it breathing in the menthol. Don't use vicks on a baby. It is not safe. After doing the bath, drain the tub then spray her off with a hose(if you have one in the tub) if not rinse the bath out then fill with clear water to rinse her off. Make sure to get her hands.

She'll get better don't worry:)
