My daughter is 2 and she has no problem going to the bathroom at daycare. But when she gets home its almost a fight to get her to go to the bathroom. Im trying to get her there every 45 mins to an hr but it never seems to work...What should i do

I worked in the toddler room in numerous daycares...and it happens a lot, the child sees their peers going potty and taking turns, so they want to do the same as their friends.
The number one thing I did for my class was have a shape located at their eye level and every time they tried on the potty they got 1 sicker...if they go, they get two. As they get used to going more and more, they forget about just trying and they end up peeing...honestly, the hardest part is pooping...and that's when they get a sticker and an M & M...but yes, always praise and a pee-pee dance does help.

hey hun well i have a 3 yr old who has been potty trained since about 20 months, my trick was PRAISE n lotz of it, and maybe even a reward, say a sugar free popsicle or something when she makes it, maybe at home she still wants to be the baby so she needs a lil more attention let me know how it goes i hope it works out 4 u!

Ask the daycare workers what method they are using. They can give you tips on how to be successful in this. It makes a difference when it's "Mommy" and someone who isn't emotionally tied to the child. Also, daycare workers potty train on a regularly basis whereas most of us (who do not work with children) may only need to do it a handful of times. They are experienced and may agree to guide you through it.

My son had the same issue. My mom suggested that I buy a little penny bubble gum machine (Toys R Us) and everytime he went potty in the potty he got a penny to get a piece of bubble gum. I tried it and it worked by the time the bubble gum was gone he was completly potty trained...and he had a bunch of pennys to boot.
Might be worth a try......Good Luck!

I WOULD SAY SHE`S TO STRESSED MAYBE SO TRY PLACING BOOKS FOR HER TO READ WHILE SITTING ON POTTY THIS MAY HELP HER TO CALM DOWN AND RELAX.CHILDREN PICK UPON OUR STRESS SO TRY TO BE MORE RELAXED WHEN YOUR AT HOME.YOU COULD REWARD HER WITH SOMETHING AS SIMPLE AS SAY A PENNY TO PUT IN PIGGY BANK WHEN SHE GOES.
