I used baby oil for my son (though any oil will do) and a fine toothed comb. Gently comb the area and then reteat with baby LOTION..it works wonders. The oil will help removed the cradle cap without irritating the skin and the lotion helps keep then skin from drying out again. Congrats and good luck!

Put a splash of vinegar in the bath water, clears thrush as well. :-)

BABY OIL MAKES IT WORST. USE SOME MINERAL OIL. RUB IT ON THE BABY'S HEAD AND USE A FINE TOOTH COMB AND SOFTLY COMB THE CRADLE CAP OFF. IT WORKED FOR MY BABY. THE DR TOLD ME TO USE THE MINERAL OIL BCUZ BABY OIL ONLY MOISTENS IT FOR THE MOMENT BUT THE SKIN ABSORBS THE OIL SO IT DRIES IT UP AGAIN. USE THE MINERAL OIL

I used unscented baby oil, just a small amount and I would also use a small soft brissled baby brush when their scalp was dry and I would softly work it back and forth on scalp 3 or 4 times a day. The scalp needs stimulation.

Hi,Teena.

Firstly, congratulations on the birth of your beautiful baby girl! My son also had cradle cap and it's quite easy to treat.Using baby oil,rub all over her head and then, with her baby comb, gently comb it out.Do this until the cradle cap has disappeared.

Love and regrds,

Another mom

Use coconut oil, rub it on while bathing, and use a comb to loosen it, then rinse. It smells funny but really works

emu oil worked on my son... really fast, too. put some on and combed it through, let it sit for 15 or 20 mins...then washed it out.

It may be that she is allergic to the soap that you are using. Try to use something more gentle, and something that is not perfumed because it sometimes contains alcohol.
Good luck!

I rubbed my baby's head with regular olive oil (not the virgin type) and lightly combed the scalp after wards. The loose flakes came off immediately and the rest came off within a few says.

baby oil, baby oil, baby oil!!!! my son had cradle cap and we put baby oil on his head and would leave it there for 20 min then we would go in and give him a bath and use a baby brush and most of it would brush out. There is also at walmart a product that has winnie the pooh characters on it that i think is called cradle cap care, that would be a second step if the first one doesnt work. Good luck, my son struggled with it on and off till he was three months.

I use to use baby oil and a soft bristled tooth brush every time the took a bath. I worked wonders. Very light pressure on the area. in a circular motion losens it up pretty good then just repeat till gone. Then just keep the scalp lotioned good after every bath.

use oil- veggie, olive - ask your pediatrician if you can change to dandruf shampoo or cetaphil soap and lotion. I stopped using Johnson and Johnson Baby stuff, until my daughter was 9 months old. good luck!

If you can get to a Sally's Beauty Supply or a store like that, there's a brand of men's soap that is gentle enough to use on your baby's head. I'm pretty sure it's made by Redken. I used it on my daughter's head and her cradle cap was gone within three days. It was amazing. I actually found out about it through my sister-in-law, she's a hair dresser. It really works well!

Gentle Natures cradle cap care(I found it at walmart). Worked for both of my kids I would rub it on and then wait about 30 min, and use a soft brush to loosen the flakes, then bathtime. It only took a few treatments and the cradle cap was gone! Good Luck

when my girls were babies, i put a little baby oil in their bath every day. it stops cradle cap and also makes their skin lovely. i never had a single problem with cradle cap, and now my daughter does the same thing with her son and he has never had it either.

My baby had it bad too. I asked the dr and he said to rub a little baby oil on it, let it soften the flakes and then wash it and comb it out while its wet. Basically, I ended up more scraping it off with my fingernails. It sounds rough but she didn't mind and it worked. Just be careful that you don't scratch her. He also told me not to be afraid of her soft spot. Be gentle, of course, but you're not going to give her brain damage or anything rubbing off some cradle cap. You might have to repeat in a few weeks but if it comes back it won't be as intense.

What worked for my daughter was putting Johnson's baby shampoo on her head while she was dry, or not in the bath, and letting it sit for about 15 or 20 minutes, then putting her in the bath and using one of those scrubby combs I got from the hospital and lightly scrubbing the top of her head with it while the soap was still kinda thick not watery. It went away almost immediately. Scrub lightly tho, obviously...

I rubbed my babies' heads with a semi-rough wash cloth and olive oil, leaving the olive oil on after the scrubbing to moisturize their scalps. They smelled like Caesar salad but it worked for us.

put a bit of baby oil on ur hands and gently rub onto head, not dripping though you dont want any in the eyes, wait a good 5-10 mins then wash it off, using a soft baby brush helps and washing off at bath time helps with mess too, goodluck, i find baby oil better as they dissolve in the water.

I just sort of let it disappear on its own. There wasn't much I could do to make it go poof.
