I use a necklace made out of hazelwood. It works amazing!!! This is the website www.purnoisetier.com. It explains on there how the necklaces work. I was very sceptical at first, but once I got one I reccomend them to everyone!!

Hyland's teething tablets worked wonders for my daughter. You can find them at any CVS, Walmart type place.

There is all these things to use, tablets, tyenols, teething rings, etc. and all are great! But remember to rub the babies gums with your finger to help relieve the pain. even if you are doing it while putting on the teething gel, or when ever you can get your finger in there. My mother told me to do this to my son. And said she did this to all of us. And I didn't think it would help, so one late night teething time she just grabbed my son and did it, and it helped and he was able to fall asleep.and I did it since. And now at 15mo old and cutting back teeth it is still helping. Along with the tyenols, and teething gels and etc of course. BTW TEETHING SUCKS! Grrr

also motrin every 6 hours, and tylonal in btw ever 4 hours of is appropriate...if the child is in alot of pain that is.....especially for sleeping....bc a overtired teething baby isnt a fun baby!

My daughter Victoria has been teething for the last month and i have to agree that Nelsons teething granuales really work. Failing that Anston and Parsons work also and are a little cheaper, buy either from your local suppermarket pharmcey or health food store. If these do not ease the discomfort there is always nurofen , which works slightly better than Calpol and for longer

Hi there,

We went from teething powders and teejel to Prodol. It works like a bomb, tried some now the day to test it and even my gums went numb.

Good luck.

My little girl has just gotten four teeth in one week (she's 11 months), and here are a few things that helped us:

1. Best thing ever - Pur Noisetier (brand) hazelwood nechlaces. (They're from Quebec but they have a website and can be found at health food stores.) They just have to wear it and it helps. My girl's been wearing hers since 6 mo and she's almost always happy.

2. Ice cream, freezies, and cold teethers. You may also want to try those mesh teethers/pacifiers with frozen fruit in the pocket. Or just feed her frozen veggies right from the package.

3. Teething tablets

4. Infants Tylenol (my pediatrician recommends this over Motrin)

My cousin is a midwife and actually suggested thin slices of lemon cooled in the fridge, for sucking on - it is supposedly a natural analgesic. It worked really well for my 3 terrible teethers and amazingly they seemed to love the bitter taste!

Motrin works better than Tylenol. We also made homemade diluted juice popsicles and ice cubes to help hydrate when my daughter wouldn't eat/drink while teething. Also, freeze a dampened washcloth and then give it to your child to chew on. It's great because it's cheap, you don't ahve to worry about anything falling off and being a choking hazard, its reusable, and you don't have to worry about little teeth puncturing the store bought teethers. Good luck!

Also, the pacifier doesn't freeze thier little hands like the teething ring.

Does she take a pacifier? When my son was teething, I would fill the pacifier up with water, freeze it, then give it to him to chew. It worked like a charm.

Wet 1/4 of a clean washcloth.  Freeze it.  let baby chew on frozen part.  (As always, with supervision).

Lots of other good suggestions here.

Tell yourself "this too will pass"

I thought I would let you know about these little tablets that are over the counter. They are called Humphrey's. I heard that they work really well. This is a hard time for parents with babies. I was lucky enough that either Tylenol or Motrin worked. Just call your Dr. to see how much to give them. My babies didn't really use teething rings. All 3 of my kids decided to have all their teeth come in at the same time. Anyway try the tablets and see if they work. Also you might try Baby Oragel. This also comes in cotton swabs so its not as messy. Just break the tip off and they can chew and get the medicine that they need. Your doing a great job. Good luck

Oh and I do remember giving her some infants tylenol when she was feeling feverish, so try that or motrin.

i found that using the teething rings, the liquid filled ones, worked well. I used to put it in the fridge to keep it cool and when id hand it to her she'd put it in her mouth and was usually content. Also, i used the baby orajel on her too.

Luckly for us, she's usually a really happy content baby, so the only time she was extremely grumpy was when she was teething. It was really hard for us because she was soooo whiny and i felt like there was nothing i could to do. But rest assured, it will pass...

My 18mth old is still teeting, he only just got his 7th tooth and we gave up using everything because they only worked for a short time so now we just use frozen face washers and teething rings.

I don't know if the teething tablets work because they aren't available in Australia

Good luck

The best thing I found to do at night is to give the appropriate does of Motin and then rub some nighttime baby orajel on the area (if you know where it is). The orajel helps to give immediate relief (though not long lasting) until the Mortin kicks in (20 min) and then you are good for at least 5 hours. My son went from inconsolable screaming while his molars are coming in to fast asleep within 5 min once I figured this out. Good luck!

The teething tablets worked wonders for us as well! Instead of putting them under the tongue however, I used to just put a few in their nighttime bottle (approx. 6 or 7). You could also dissolve a few in some water and use a medicine dropper to dispense in the baby's mouth. Good luck and hang in there!

My daughter use to have lots of pain with her teeth. I used the baby oral gel and they also sell these teething tablets that you put in there mouth and they dissolve. Try motrin that works better then tylenol.

I've never tried the tablets but I use Camilia which I think is the same thing. It's liquid in these little plastic tubes that you twist the end off and squirt into baby's mouth. It's an herbal product and my daughter's paedatrician actually reccommended it. It's worked wonders for us.

are not up for using paracetamol??? here in uk we have calpol, babies can have it from 3 months, it's great when all else fails and you want to sleep.  When my daughter is teething and teeth are cutting through i will give her a dose before she goes to bed, brilliant stuff.

When my daughter was having trouble, a family friend swore by carrots (regular size, not baby), the root ball portion of a green onion because an enzyme naturally eases the pain, as well as large pieces of beef jerky. Choose pieces that won't risk pieces breaking off. According to her whatever they use to tenderize the meat also does the same to the gums. We tried all of the above, as well as the teething tablets recommended in other posts. Believe it or not, all worked!

Your local natural herbal place should be able to help, just make sure that teething is the only issue, one of mine was teething and we were having bad nights and days, but it turned out, she also had an ear infection, which the doctor missed coz we were so sure it was teething.

Good luck, it does get better!

We have used those tablets and they work great, we have also used Gentle Naturals teething drops and it's the same thing, only drops. It is awesome and you don't have to deal with the pills they fall apart on your fingers and are kinda icky. You can get them at Target! Good luck, it may be awhile, but it will get better!

I have  a little guy that has been teething since he was 4 months old... he now has 6 teeths. I used HYLANDS TEETHING TABLETS. They are all natural and completely safe. They worked wonders for my son. They just disolve under the tongue and really do help. Good luck!
