every since my daughter was 3 months old she has been on a daily Routine. at 3 months old i would put her to bed around 9pm and she would sleep till 9 am. well now my daughter is a few weeks shy of being 1 yrs old. and i put her to sleep at 9pm and she will sleep till 10:30am or 11:15am. is that normal for her to sleep that late? i dont get up until she wakes up. should i be getting up earlyer to wake her up out of her sleep? my mother tells me that i shouldnt let her sleep that long. what should i do?

"Let sleeping dogs and babies lie" If she is sleeping this much she must need it. As an experiment, you could get up a bit sooner and go about your morning chores to see if the sounds of life in the house might motivate her to get up sooner. Also, is it dark in her room? If so, she may think it is still night so continues to sleep until her body won't allow her to sleep any longer. Just a thought.

I'd let her sleep...she'll get too grumpy if you wake her up & she's still tired. If YOU want her up earlier maybe try an earlier bedtime (my boy goes 6:30pm - 5am, would like a bit later but he falls asleep if I try to keep him up!), but if it suits your family than leave it as is.

Let her sleep. She may be going through a growth spurt.

My sons sleeps for about 10 hours every night so it's not as much as your daughter, but I wouldn't wake her up if I was in your shoes. I feel bad waking my son up from naps and I know how I am when I get woken up early.

when she was younger her naps were probably longer, toddlers need between 12 and 16 hours of sleep a day. if you want her to wake up earlier put her to sleep earlier, if you are fine with the way things are I would leave it alone as log as it is working. consider yourself lucky and enjoy your sleep!
