If she is not even 2 yet then it is probably to soon. I tried to train my daughter at 11/2 yrs old because she had all of the signs that she was ready but my doctor said that it was way to soon. He said that you shouldnt train a child until they are 2-21/2. So I would say just wait b/c my daughter is 21/2 and really just now started showing interest in the potty.

my daughter is 14m and i am working with her on potty training. i started after her 1st b'day. she likes to sit and play while sittin on the potty. if she doesnt go i still say good girl. if she goes potty in the potty i really praise her and she likes to look at her deposits when she is finished. she also likes to watch mommy use the potty. i sometimes use the potty while she is sittin on her potty. i have heard of putting cheerios in the potty and making it a game to see if they can hit the cheerios. have u tried puttin on trainin pants without plastic covers to see if she will keep her panties dry. on the bright side summer is almost here u can always take her outside and give ur floors a break.

well we do the naked bottom thing and she goes on the floor or she goes on the diaper but not while she is wearing one. She has a doll that we have been using but she has more fun making it pee than actually learning. I would wait longer to potty train her but my carpets cant take any more of her "accidents." :( Im at a loss but those are all really great ideas ladies

LOL!!! That is too good Michelle!
We actually bought my son a doll that peed only on potty. It's called a Missy Kissy doll. She come with her own potty and bottle and she only goes on the potty due to a magnet. It worked for a bit but i think my son was just too confused at this point because it was like the 3rd time we tried to train him lol. We trained him when he came to me with his big boy underwear and said he wanted his diaper off. He was about 27 months old. He has regressed but the treats and stickers worked great for him.

I agree with Rebecca. Sometimes kids need a little motivation to go potty. My mom's way of potty training me was a bit unorthodox...but it worked...LOL. She bought a baby doll that went potty or wet her diaper. When the baby went pee in the potty, she would make a big fuss..."Yay!!!" but if the baby wet her diaper, my mom spanked the doll. Well....I guess I made my choice because after that I never wet my diaper again....albeit this was 30 years ago. The times have changed....and not every child is the same. I think the reward method is best. I did it with my son...and it worked.

don't give her underwear or a diaper. Let her walk around the house naked in the bottom half and leave the potty chair out in sight. Have you tried rewards? Stickers, jelly bean?? It might work also.

Good luck
