Use Surgical Spirits(if you don't have buy some from your local pharmacy), wet a piece of cotton wool with surgical spirits & dab the bellybutton & area around the bellybutton with it...at least twice a day.

She is still young. Keep cleaning her belly button with alchol wipes until it dries. Usually at every changing, use an alcholic wipe to clean her belly button. Also call your doctor because that has never happened in my experience. It could be infected because her belly is so close to a diaper etc. Better safe then sorry. Hope this helps.

It is infected, nothing should be coming out of it. Are you still using Alcohol at changing time? I would definitely see the pediatrician. Good Luck :)

Definitely sounds like an infection. Have you been cleaning it several times a day, every day, with rubbing alcohol? What I had to do with my son b/c his was starting to get infected when he was a newborn, I had to take Q-Tips and dip them in rubbing alcohol just so I could reach down under the umbilical cord stump. Within a day or two it finally fell off and it killed the infection.

I would suggest alcohol on cotton balls (not the synthetic balls but real cotton) or Q-tips which are real cotton. Swab every 3 to 4 hours. If it has not cleared within a few days, call your doctor for a check-up to insure there is no infection getting into the baby's blood stream.

I'm mostly echoing here but no it's not normal. The pus indicates an infection, especially if there's a lot. I'd get to the doctor.

That sounds like an infection to me. Get her to a doctor quick before it spreads inside!

if around the belly its red or her belly as swollen then you have something to be concerne about. But Ive heard that some babies take more time. My baby is 3 weeks old her umbilicol cord fell off and the black wax too but still some poss in it. If your really concerne maybe you should ask your baby's doctor just to be on the safe side!

tell the dr. fast make a walk in appointment if you can go just walk in...Thats not suppose to happen and it could mean it came off before it was suppose to then...It happened to me youngest.

Our doctor told us if it ever oozed anything or smelled funny to call her. I would put in a call to the ped.
