you say he is still getting the vitamins.. how have you substituted the iron that is in formula that is needed for healthy delelopment.. because to get that same amount of iron baby need to drink about 3 litres of cows milk.. just be interesting to know what you give baby so that iron is still in diet?

if hes happy with it and still gaining weight then leave him on it. you can aford to make him dirnk something he doesnt want to. id prob try again if he's teething but if he still wont drink it jus keep him on the normal milk. trust me i have a 12 month old daughter that will not drink full stop and has to have all her feeds thru a tube , you cant afford to be fussy about what they are drinking just be happy he's drinking something at all. good luck mate

you must speak to your doctor.. that is far too young to put a baby on cows milk... the nutrition is just not in cows milk... baby needs alot more nutrition than cows milk gives.. thats why formula is available.. try a different brand of formula x

You can also try Goat's Milk? Some might laugh at the idea, but it has more vitamins and minerals than normal cows milk and way more healthier.

4mo does seem very early to me to be on cows milk. Does he seem fine drinking it? There is a lot in cows milk that isn't so great for us (since we're humans and it wasn't originally intended for us, and some people are lactose intolerant). Teething can be a huge factor as to why he isn't wanting to drink formula, or really anything. My daughter would have much rathered chewed instead of drinking anything while teething, since that felt better on her gums. As long as you're sure he's getting all the nutrients he needs go for it. But first, really check that can of formula because about 85% of the stuff in formula that our babies need is NOT in cows milk.

At the end of the day no child is text book. I always go off what my child tells me not some health visitor that has no kids and gets her info from a book.

My oldest child is 7 now and he stopped drinkng formula milk at the age of 4 months and he is fine. I dont think u have anything to worry about as long as he eats.

My baby also 4 & half months, and we started feeding him now to, If he is cool with normal milk, stick with that, my older baby , Tristan now 3, also started drinking normal cows milk when he was 4 months old, and he is a healthy ( naughty LOL ) little boy now . If he's appitite is ok on the solids & cows milk, then thats ok. I think... But just double check with Pead. Good luck
