My fractured ankle isn't healing properly!!!

I fractured my ankle over a month ago and I can tell somethings not right with it. Seems like it should be at least on its way to healing and it still gives me GREAT discomfort! My MIL told me that if it doesn't heal correctly the doc might have to rebreak it and it kinda got me freaked out, i'm not sure if that's whats really gonna happen but thought i'd ask. Does anyone know what normally happens when a fracture doesn't heal the right way?? I'd appreciate any advice! I HURTS sooooo bad!!!!!

Erin I agree that it can be affected by the different emotional and mental things that are going on in your life. It is our emotional layer of our body that affects our phisical health. Have you ever thought about going to someone that does healing work? If you get some of the emotional things out of you and get your phisical health worked on also you could notice changes in that ankle. Also a good idea to keep intough with your doctor.

Have you had any secondary xrays taken? In Ontario you get xrays during the healing process to confirm if its healing or not. My BIL and my little nephew both just broke a foot and a leg 3 weeks ago. They both have had secondary xrays taken. I even think my nephew has had 3 xrays so far and my BIL is due for another xray. It wouldn't hurt to mention you want more xrays taken.

If its a fracture and not a break then the bone shouldnt have much (if any) chance to misalign itself so a rebreak is VERY unlikely. But if it isnt healing properly they will need to see if they can find out why - I would imagine worst case scenario would be pinning the bone but would think that unlikely. Only thin you CAN do is go to the doctor so they can take a look at it

Erin - if it isnt healing properly then see a doctor about it. Keep in mind that healing is both a mental and physical thing. I mention this because many of your posts seem to indicate a tendancy of looking for problems and/or negative thought patterns. If you change the negative thought patterns to positive ones you will probably find that many of these problems disappear (and physical injuries heal faster) But for your ankle see a doctor in case there is a problem :)
