Sorry, no clue. But kudos on waiting till the first child is older. Mine were 16 mo apart. I feel that was tough. Also, I guess it is a scientific fact that your husband's sperm actually choose the sex of the baby. research that if you want. Pray a very specific prayer and end it with "if it be thy will".

Eathing a big breakfast after you get pregnant is not going to determine if you have a boy or not.  That is determined at the moment of conception.

My husband and I have a 2 year old daughter and we are expecting a son in the next week. We had tried for a boy this time and we're successful. Your best bet is to have sex on the day of ovulation. This is what we did. There are different over the counter tests you can take that tell you if you are ovulating or not. Also look online at the different sex positions and make sure to elevate your waist right after sex.

the real and only way is to have pgd done. it is expsenive, but if u really want a boy, tht is the only to do so. go to www.pgdcenter.com is a good start for and will answer all of your questions. i had to do a paper on it for school and it was very interesting. PGD is Preimplantion Genetic diagonis and is a way a lot of people go to get that beautifull and healthy baby. you can also type in PGD to a search engine and it will bring up all sorts of websites about it. let me know if you need any other help. hope to hear from you soon

We had a daughter first, which we really wanted, then when our second child was born, we really wanted a boy (also would have been ecstatic with a girl), but were blessed with a boy!!!!! We didn't do anything special to have one sex or the other, just got really blessed and lucky. I think just hope for exactly what you want, be prepared for another girl and just be happy whatever God blesses you with!!!! :-)))) GOOD LUCK!!!!!

chose foster adoption. 100% chance of getting
a girl (or boy) and giving a child a second chance

Technology is in place to do gender selection. They fertilize your eggs in the lab, then only implant the female ones. Thought I throw that out there. Please don't throw any stones!

I wouldn't do it, but it is an option.

As a mom of 2 boys all I can say is if You tell me your secret, I'll tell you mine, lol. only thing I know is that supposedly if you are trying for a boy, you should only have sex on your most fertile days,especially on the day you actually ovulate. Also, I've heard that you should eat cereal, foods high in salt and potassium and avoid dairy, something to do with the alkaline in you that can help the sperm live longer or something...

Ok, here's the deal... I went on mydays.com and followed it for a girl. My husband is in the military and only came home on weekends. I was thrilled that this particular weekend was time exactly for a girl. Intimacy never worked out!!! THEN he stayed home on Monday and 9 months later we had a BOY (#4)! I think there is a higher power that is at work here, but if you want to try use that website.

Boy sperm swim faster than girls, but die off quicker too. The closer you are to ovulation the more likely the boys will be to fertilize the egg. Girls take a couple days to get up the fallopian tubes to meet the egg when it's released. Figure out when you ovulate and then that's the day to make a baby. My sister was pretty good at timing her children for the sex and the birthstone, talk about control freak!

We got both of our genders by using a technique in the book Taking Charge of your Fertility. It teaches you lots about your body and what to look for.

If you are trying for a boy you have to have sex the day before or the day of ovulation to increase chances. Male sperm dies quicker so the closer to ovulation the better the odds. If yuo wish for a female, have sex 3-4 days before ovulation. Femals sperm is slower but live longer. We had sex the day i ovulated early in the morning so we didn't miss the chance and we got our boy,he is now 2 and for our second we had sex about 4 days before...we went really trying for this one but if it happened it happened kind of deal.

Pick up the book at your local book store it was about 30$ but i read it over and over to remember little things just about the body in general. The book also has charts at the end of it so you can track and learn your ovulation cycle.

Not sure if its really anything that you can control. I am interested in this subject as well, but I want a daughter, and my fiance so far is 3 for 3 on boys. His theory is that other than genetics, the man can somewhat control what he produces by his underwear. Let me explain. Supposedly if a man wears Say, tighty whiteys, or some other form of underewaer that keeps his testicles closer to his body, therefore raising the temperature that the sperm is in contact with, he is more likely to have a girl, while men who say go commando, are more likely to have boys because the testicles are farther from the body thus lowering the temperature of the testicle. Whether this is true or not, I dont know. As I said, that is his theory. Your best bet would really be to ask Doctors. Who knows, maybe they have found a way to fertilize the egg in a way that insures the sex of the baby. Again I am no Dr. so this is all really supposition. Good luck.

You may want to do some research on the Shettles method -- it covers what others here have mentioned about positioning, but there is also a way that you can make the vaginal environment more receptive to sperm with the Y chromosome and more hostile to sperm with the X chromosome. However, keep in mind that it only increases your odds by a minuscule percentage -- if that. If you're really determined to have a boy, the only guaranteed way to get one is by adoption.

Someone already partly said this, yes its true boy sperm swim faster and get there quicker but then die sooner, girl sperm are slow and steady.

What that means is if you have sex only at the beginning of when you ovulate, when your eggs are first released high up in the fallopian tubes, the boy sperm have a better chance of getting there because they can swim faster and further. Girl sperm usually get the egg later in ovulation when it has travelled down further. Hope I explained that well enough.

Most people ovulate on a 28 day cycle. The first day of your period is day 1 and then you ovulate on days 14, 15 and 16 (usually) so have lots of sex on and before day 14. Talk to your doctor about figuring out when you ovulate (there are signs that are a bit gross to go into detail in a post!!! - PM me if you want the gory details) and have sex at the start of your ovulation. Def speak to your doc to confirm this, its a standard question they explain all the time, they probably even have a chart to help explain how it works, mine did!

hi i read your post and thought i'll send a msg....i was watching a tv program and they were saying that Y (boy Gene) sprems swim fast but don't survive long...with X (girl gene) they swim slow but survive longer...if your taking for a boy any postion that your pelvis is up cos Y (boy gene) is supposted to swim faster....i hope you get your little boy....i'm trying for a girl :)

There are so many different theories. But the funniest one told to me is lay with your legs and waste elevated during and after sex. I dont know if it really worked. But i did get a boy second time around. lol
