Gray was 8 months before he could sit up unassisted. Take him to the pediatrician if you suspect there is anything wrong. Tummy time helps to strengthen the muscles, as well as stretches (doing the bicycle with their legs, etc). Try sitting him up on a blanket with a pillow on all four sides for when he falls so it's a soft landing. Sit in front of him and hold his arms out and do it for about five or ten minutes...how ever long he will allow and just gradually let go when you think he is steady...this might help. I would really just consult with the doc though because my advice might not be what is best recommended, it's just what I can think of off the top of my head. Good luck.
