my 3 year old is scared of police or anyone in uniform we can not even go into a store if he sees a police car with out him screaming and holerong wantong to go home any opions on how i can get him out of this problem

i want to try that that is just the thing his uncle is a fire cheif and he is scared of him now i am trying to help him out with talking to him it is just not really working

Well, him freaking out like that is obviously not good, but I personally never taught my daughter to go to an officer if she needs help. Why? She's 3 and thinks the garbage man is the police. She sees a uniform with a badge on the shoulder and automatically thinks "cop". So I taught her that if she ever needs help she needs to find another mommy who has kids with her. I also told her that when kids need help they go to a mommy. When grown-ups need help they go to the police.
Now, as far as the freaking out goes I would suggest you talk to him. Ask him why he's scared of the police man or the guy in the uniform? I would also look into a local fireman's or police museum. Take him around and show him all the neat stuff they work with and all the good things they do. It may take some time, but he'll eventually get over his fears.

hey i know a lady thats kid like your. she take him to the firestation when had there funday and now he will go need fireman but still crys when it come to police

I would just explain to him that the police are there to help people who might be in trouble and that he doesn't have to be afraid of them. You could even try comparing them to his favorite super hero. Look for some books that involve the police helping people to read with him.

Why is he afraid of police?
Why not take him to the firestation to see the firemen? Then maybe a police officer can drop by? Or you can take him to the police station for a visit.
If he won't go into either place then maybe have one talk to him while at the mall.
Try watching shows where police are portrayed as the good guys/heros.
