all mine had nite terrors, thrashing and screaming, what i used to do is an hour b4 bedtime i would bath them, cuddle them, no tv, keep everthing calm and quiet, then read a nice story at bed. that would help, and its true they do grow out of it, if that doesnt work maybe ur son is worrying about something, school, etc.hope this helps.

my daughter, now 3, had night terrors when she was youger. I found they came only when she was not getting enough sleep. Try adjusting your son's sleep schedule. Does he still nap? Maybe an earlier bedtime? Other than that there is nothing you can do, it actually makes them worse to try and comfort the child. As hard as it is to do, you just have to watch and make sure they don;t hurt themselves. Good luck!

I'm sure that he "will" outgrow this, just keep reassuring him and loving him, that it's okay.
