Actually, not to alarm you, but I can notice it in the picture - however, I also have experience with it. My daughter had the same thing and we noticed it at about the same age. Though I'm not sure why they would send you to the hospital, but then again, I'm not sure where you are and they probably do things differently. My daughter had to see an opthamologist (sp?) who specialized in children. We had to take her in every three months to make sure that she was seeing properly. At that age, they use fun things like 3D pictures and games and such to find out , and she always got excited when we went. Luckily, my girl didn't have any vision problems because of it, which was their main concern. But it did bother me that her eyes didn't point the same way and everybody noticed it; it also got worse the more tired she became. Even now, at 10, I can still notice it when she's really tired.

For her, they said that the muscle tissue that controls the eye was weak. To remedy it, they had her wear a patch over her strong eye for a few hours a day for approximately a year. They started her doing it for 3 months, then a review. If it didn't start to improve, they would look into surgery to correct it. I'm very thankful that she never got to that point.

If it is a slight turn, which it looks to me like it is, I don't think you have much to worry about. They usually only resort to surgery in extreme cases. If they suggest it first, demand to explore other options.

i cant say anything about what your son has going on with his eye. i notice though that you are very worried and agitated, i feel for you. i remember the first time my daughter had to be confined in the hospital, for asthma though, i was a bundle of nerves. Gemma, the doctor probably didnt say much because they dont know yet what's really the matter and he wants you to take your baby to hospital to administer tests. Just follow what he said and when the results come then they'll be able to tell you what you need to know. the best help i can give you is to tell you to for now to just relax and take it easy. whatever it is youre feeling can be sensed by your child. i know it is hard to stay clam now but for now it is the best for the situation. you and your son will be in my prayers.
