Hi Stephani, when I was weaning my son, for 1 week, I just gave him baby food for breakfast, then the following week, he had baby food for breakfast AND lunch and on week 3, he was having it 3 times a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Hope this helps. Also, once he got going, I used to boil and mash veggies as well to improve his nutrional intake but I used very little water to boil in so that I did not have to drain any water (and hence any nutrients)

when my daughter was 4 months old she was already on 3 meals a day and 2 snack bottles...we just went for her 1 year check up and she is healthy and right were she needs to be.... by 3 meals i mean for breakfast she would get a jar of cereal and bottle, lunch she got a bottle and a fruit, a meat and a vegie ( equalling 1 jar total) and that same at dinner.... and a bed time bottle with cereal in it...

Well as a mother of 3, I will tell you that each child is different. But one thing I have learned for sure is that you want to start with VEGIES!!!!!! Once babies get the sweet taste of fruit, it can be hard to get them to want to eat the vegies. Also remember that baby food is VERY PLAIN. Which can be good, but how many things do you eat with no salt/pepper.
I would say if I was doing it all over again I would do it the same way..... plain baby cereal in the am.... few bites of veggies and then fruit at lunch and dinner and then maybe some cereal again before bed.
Best of luck!!!

At around 5 months I started introducing veggies and fruits about 2 times a day, and by six months I was giving 3 meals a day (about 1 tbsp each meal) Now at 7 months, he is getting 4 meals a day (about 2 tbsp each meal).
Your baby will let you know if they are interested in more, or full. Just try to follow their cues.
Good luck and have fun!

I didn't start my son on any solids until 6 months. But when I did, his pediatrician told me that he should be eating cereal and fruit 3 times a day, and veggies at lunch and dinner. Sounds like a lot, but I just did a little bit of each.
