When my daughter was constipated, I would give her the fruit mixture I made. It had apples, plums, a pear, grapes and carrot in it. She loved it and it helped her poo by the next day. I made a food ice tray of it. I recommend using one carrot as it can give it a strange taste if you use too much.

Stop feeding him constapating items like bannans and rice ceral. Make sure he gets lots of fluids and prune juice should work.

When my boys (2.5yo and 10.5mo) get constipated, I have found that white grape juice really works. The toddler gets it undiluted while I mix it 50/50 with water for the baby.

Both my babies had problems with constipation and our doc told us to give them any of the "P" foods, peas, pears, pear juice, prunes, peaches...it worked well I just made sure they had at least one of them each day and it helped. My SIL is a pediatrian and she tells her parents to use pear juice instead of prune juice. I hope this helps :)

I suggest drink lots of plain water.... babies too need water.... when my kids were babies, I had two bottles, one for milk n one for water... if your baby can't take plain water add a little glucose in the water bottle. Hope this will help you. Even while breastfeeding them I still gave them a bottle of water in between....it helps.

When my son got constipated I found that what he needed the most was to increase the amount of green veggies he was given. I increased it to giving him some at nearly every meal and that cured him and he had no more tummy pain. He was eating baby food at the time and I gave him either peas or green beans or mixed veggies and alternated them.

First, know that constipation is defined by the consistency of a poop and not by the frequency of poop. If your child's poo is soft when he finally passes, he was NOT constipated.
With that said, babies are very rarely constipated. Breastfed babies especially. It's perfectly normal for a baby to go just once a week, even two weeks (although they will probably be quite uncomfortable at that point). Their intestines are not as coordinated as yours and have to work a little harder to move waste along. Also, often times in trying to poo, babies will also clench their bum closed, creating discomfort. Juices and stuff will not help that issue.
If you are breastfeeding, breastmilk is very nutrient rich and there is not a whole lot of extra to be pooped out. The fact that they went from pooping a few times a day to every few days, is because their intestines matured and now are able to soak up more of the nutrients than before, leaving less left over.
If, when your son poops, it is hard, I would then call your pediatrician because there could be other underlying problems. However, if your son's poop is soft, all you can do is help him be comfortable. To make his belly feel better, or to help him relax, you can lie him on his belly. Gas medicines can help because of their sedative side effects. Warm baths. Moving his legs in a bicycle motion. Also, having him sitting up can help (imagine trying to poop while lying flat on your back!).

my daughter is the same way! So we looked up on the internet some remedies and she has been on a "p" diet. Peaches, pears, peas, prune, and potatoes. Carrots, bananas and applesauce are terrible for their digestive system. So try these foods and see if it makes a difference.

Megan, how old is your son? My son is 6 months and he's been having a lot of constipation issues over the past several weeks. I've done a tiny bit of apple juice mixed with water, but I haven't tried the prunes yet. I'll probably try that next. Not sure what else to do! He goes to the doctor tomorrow for his 6 month checkup and I'm going to ask her what to do! Sorry I wasn't much help...but I know what you're going through! Good luck!
