I was an Infant Nursery Supervisor (daycare teacher) for 13 years and my best advice...  Keep trying, but don't worry!  Every child is different and they all do things in their own time when they're ready and want to.  It's all normal.  If you are truly concerned, ask your doc about it at next visit...

My 16 year old was about 4 months my 3 year old was about 2 months, now I think she just could not lay still and it was always an accident from moving so much.  Keep in mind that when you hear stories about when some children roll over it is often an accident or it is not actually a full roll over.  Many child from infancy to teenage years do things at there own pace.  If he hates tummy time that is more likely why.  Some babies prefer to be on their tummy and some prefer their back.  If he is not showing any signs of movement problems he is fine.  In your picture is looks GREAT!  Do not fret, I bet your guy is doing something that another 5 month old is not doing or interested in doing.  It is just like walking and talking.  Some kids walk and say clear words by sight at 11 months some not until they are 1 1/2.

PS  I personally still can not sleep on my tummy, so I am with him all the way "I HATE TUMMY TIME TOO!"  lol

I would not worry! My daughter was about 7 months old and started crawling weeks later! RELAX!

My son hated tummy time too.  It turned out that he had reflux, which the doctors didn't catch until he was 8 mo's old.  He cried everyday.  He rolled over on his back at 3 mo's because being on his tummy was so painful.

My son is 6+ months and only did it once (around 4 months I think) but hasn't done it since. He HATES tummy time too!!! I asked the dr. and since he seems to be on pace with everything else - and in some cases advanced - she said not to worry. He started sitting unsupported earlier than most babies and I personally think it's because he hates being on his stomach so much - he wants to be a part of everything.

Hi, my son was later too, 7-8 months and hated tummy time too.  He'll do it when he is ready, then you wish he couldn't!

Both my daughters hated tummy time. Don't worry about it, he will roll when he is ready. And usually when your not watching the first time.

My son rolled over when he was 4 months but I think you shouldn't be concerned until after 6 months and he's not doing it. You can put him down for tummy time in 5 minute increments. Do you go on your tummy as well and play with him and the toys you put out for him while he's down there?

My daughter hated tummy time and i asked my doctor about it and they said not to worry about it so i stopped doing it. She eventually became a bottom shuffler and not the 'normal' crawler so really she never 'rolled over'!! She 18 months now and is flying about the place. Every child is different, try not to worry about the milestones, he will reach them in his own time i'm sure. Just enjoy every minute because the time flys by!!!

my son rolled over for the first time at 2 months. he doesn't do it all the time tho. he is not a huge fan of tummy time, but when he is on his tummy he has gotten really good at lifting his head about 90 degrees. After he has his head up for so long he eventually rolls over. He may be sreaming while he's on his tummy, but once he rolls over i try to make it a good thing and he usually ends up laughing. It just takes time, depends on their strength.

Hello mom. Bet he is your first child.

If there is nothing to be suspicious about his health, then do not worry too much. Each baby has different step of growing up. Some baby talk before walk.

Big hug for him !

Apparently the nanny that I have my son stay with during the day told me he would roll over it. To be honest...I just started noticing it myself and never saw it before about a month or two ago. So have no fear. He will get there Im sure.
