he still eats any kind of veggie available without question, but put any type of fruit on the spoon and its like i'm asking him to do higher mathematics or something. i've tried changing up the times of day (fruit morning, veggies evening and visa versa) but nothing doing. has anyone else had any issues with sweet foods??

i'll have to try the mixing it with veggies thing cause the rice cereal is totally not working :( i hadn't thought about the graduates thing- thats such a great idea! he's just gotten in his front 4 teeth and has started on the puffy cereal (literally today) and loves the new texture. at this point i'll give anything a shot. but again as another mom said he's eating tons of veggies and formula so i'm gonna try not to worry.... too much: ;}

M daughter after rice cereal started fruits and loved them, then went on to veggies and would not eat fruit no matter what one it was! I got her to eat fruit again by adding rice ceral it makes it a little more bland, or add some formula/breast milk. The best thing that worked for me was to mix her furit with some vegies, have more vegies in it as first and slowly reduce the amount of vegies until its just fruit. She now eats fruit but is more a veggie lover!

My son ate everything I gave him, and loved it until he turned 2. He stopped eating all fruit except bananas and all veges except peas and corn. This was over night. He is now 4 and I still cant get him eating any other fruits or veges. I even got a cookbook where you grate veges into things like chocolate cake so they dont know its in there and even though he doesnt see me cooking it he still knows its in there and wont eat it after one bite. Good luck with your son, I hope you dont have the problems that I do.

Generally, when my son is going through a phase where he can't stand a certain food, I'll send it through the food processor and mix it with something he likes (ex, veggies get put in his mashed potatoes, fruits get put in his yogurt.)  It's a decent short term solution.

I would mix it with rice cereal. It would soften the texture and tone down the taste.

I don't have any ideas on how to help in eat the fresh raw fruit but if you would like for him to at least get his fruits in try making smoothies. I would cut up apples, bananas, strawberries, or oranges and put them in a blender with yogurt and a little juice (apple, orange, grape) and blend it and give it to the girls in their sippy cup. They loved it. You can maybe even try having him dip is fruits in yogurt. Good luck

First of all, your son is absolutely adorable! My son has been the same way lately. He'll eat meat, poultry, dairy, and veggies, but fresh fruit he just throws on the floor. So the only thing I could think to do, was buy the Gerber Graduates fruit roll things, or the fruit snacks. He ate those for awhile, but now doesn't even eat those. I really think that there's nothing that I can do to make him eat his fruits. I really don't mind just as long as he's getting all the other foods he needs. Good luck!
