my son will be one on the 29th of this month and he throws bad temper tantrums.

If he gets told "no", or just doesn't get what he wants or just gets mad, then he throws his self on the floor and beats his head. We have tried to stop this problem and don't know what else to do. B/c when we either ignore or just tell him "no, no" then he just gets worse and we are afraid he's gonna bust his head or crack it or something. Open for any suggestions. Willing to try anything at this point. Thank you to all

well we wont put him in his crib bc its wood and he throws hisself in there all the time and weve tried putting him in the playpin, just dont know what else to do gonna ask the dr at his 1 yr ckup so ty

Can you just carry him somewhere that it would be safe and painless to bang his head (like his crib or a playpen)... then just let him throw his fit there?

Well, sounds like mine he's been doing this for awhile and he hits his head hard every time thats why it scares us but usually trying to distract him with something else wont work and we tried the holding him calmly till he quits freaking out but then he tries to just throw hiself out of our arms, he will just throw his fits.

If he hits his head hard enough to hurt... he will probably stop. He's pretty young, so distracting him w/ something he CAN have may work.... or just hold him calmly til he quits freaking out.

Good luck! When my son was 9 months old he wanted to play w/ my purse. I had no problem w/ that, but took my cell phone out first since it was the only breakable item. He screamed for 20 minutes because of that and nothing I did to distract him worked until HE decided he was done throwing a fit.
