My toddler thinks its funny to hit and kick my pregnant belly

I have a 21 month old little girl and I'm 5 months pregnant. My daughter thinks its fun to hit and kick my belly even when I tell her it hurts me and my feelings. I've also told her that her little sister is in mommys belly and that it hurts her. I've tried to show her with her baby dolls. and I've tried timeouts for hitting. But no matter what she just laughs at me. She'll cry when I put her in time out but then do it again next time i change her diaper or try to play a game on the floor with her. I just don't know what to do. I don't want her to hurt the new baby, esp. after shes born.

Please help!

Send her to her room. Away from you. Time outs end up in power struggles - at least the way they're depicted on Super Nanny. Tell her she can come out when she's ready to be gentle. Show her gentle. But do NOT tolerate for single second this type of behavior. Be firm. Show her you are in charge. It will help her to feel more secure.

Keep telling her NO THAT'S BAD!!! and then put her in time out or her bed. You need to be consistant every single time she does it follow through. If you don't she will not take you seriously and will continue. If she does it to you sh'e going to do it to other people. She needs to learn now that it is not acceptable.

good chance shes not doing it to deliberately hurt baby.. my sons 2 1/2 and 1 1/2 kick sometimes while changing... and after the first warning i finish and they go to timeout regardless.. as far as after baby comes.. just watch her like you would any child any age.. you'll have to teach her to be gentle and loving sister which im sure she will be
