For any medication I would talk to your doctor, but to make her more comfortable you could try saline nasal drops and a cool mist humidifier for the cough. Honestly though it sounds like it might be allergies because she has a cough, itchy eyes and runny nose - my allergist told me (and I've found through personal experience) that most often when you have that combination of symptoms the easiest way to tell if it's a cold or not is the color/texture of the mucus - if it's clear and runny it's most likely allergies - if it's thicker and has some color to it (usually yellowish/greenish) it's a cold. If it is allergies there are a number of things out on the market for young kids but I would talk to your doctor first :)

i'd get a basic cleareyes and try that on her eyes also you can get saline nasel drops for infants which are quite effective.

that should ease her until you see the doctor tomorrow. as for the cough... there is nothing you can give infants :(

Sounds like a little cold to me. Lots of OJ, or oranges and water and a little tylenol for any aches or pains if she's complaining of them. other than that lots of rest if the snot turns a cloudy yellowish green go see the doc, it's an infection of some sort.

I would give nothing; maybe a little cough medicine if the cough is really disturbing her sleep. A humidifer may work. Child's Vicks is pretty good too if they will leave it alone.

It sounds like it could be allergies. I would take her to the Doc. just to be safe, but it sounds like she has some allergies. Try placing a humidifier in her room, a cool mist one (no vicks vapor ones!!!) and see if that helps any!!! But Def. bring her to the doc. to be 100% and to clear your mind! Good Luck

Is there any crusting around the eyes? It could be a type of pink eye. If so, it is contagious and your child must be on prescribed medicine If there is no crusting it could be seasonal allergies. You should probably call the doctor.

Ok let me rephrase, nose is runny and clear but her cough is very bad and her eyes are red and itchy is there anything I can do to comfort her. I am not trying to dope her up and I was planning on calling the doctor tomorrow.

I agree with Kate. Sadly there isn't much you can give a young child you just kinda have to deal with a cold. I almost yelled at the father I babysit for when I saw he had children's cold medicine for his little girl, she will be 2 at the beginning of Jan.

you can't give cold medicine to a child under six (i believe it's six). if you feel she is in pain give her some tylenol, but no cold medicine. kates suggestions are good.

Nothing. You should elevate the head of her bed, get a cold air humidifier, and soak her in the tub with a lavender bath or oil. Then in the morning you should call your DOCTOR for medical advice concerning medication and dosage.
