We are trying to establish a 2 month old sleep schedule. We have been breastfeeding on demand and letting him sleep when he sleeps, but I am ready for some kind of schedule so that I can know when to plan outings and appointments. He is starting to sleep through the night (goes to bed between 10 and midnight and wakes between 4 and 6 to feed, then goes back down for another 1-2 hours). Daytime naps are totally random. He will go a couple of days taking four or five 30 mintues naps and then he will have a day where he takes two solid 3 hour naps. He is definitely fussier on the days when he only cat naps so we would like to encourage these longer naps (plus mom could use a little break on those days).
Does anyone have a nap/sleep schedule for their 2 month old or suggestions for getting him on a schedule? We are not quite ready to go to something as extreme as Babywise since he doesn't eat at even intervals and the pediatrician wants to see more weight gain.
