My baby had a severe rash also. My doctor prescribed "CLOMAZOL" which is a broad spectrum anti-fungul cream which my baby did NOT have a fungul infection but funnily enough his rash was gone by the second day.

Most baby wipes will hurt when you wipe on diaper rash. I found out when we ran out of toilet paper and I used wipes. I had a small cut...like a scrape and it burned like hell...no wonder my daughter screamed bloody murder when I wiped her when she had diaper rash. Use a wed rag to wipe. It doesn't hurt.

Also, there is some cream you can get at the pharmacy (its over the counter but sold at pharmacys) called RESINOL. It works right away. It comes in a cylinder like container and is pink and putty like. It worked for my daughter when Desitin, cornstarch mixed w/ vasiline, and there was another I tried, didn't work. It isn't a diaper cream and is used for rashes, poison oak, and other things that cause irritated skin. It stains so be careful!!

I use an all natural cream during diaper-free time, after 20mins I can actually see the difference in her skin. It is called "lunar eclipse" made by "big city clinic".
By the words bank holiday, I can tell you're not in Canada/USA, so here's the ingredients, maybe you can find a similar product in a health food store where you live.
sweet almond oil, beeswax, chickweed, comfrey, marshmallow, goldenseal.
I found it at a store far from where i live, but my local health food store started carrying it when i asked.

My daughter gets REALLY bad rashes too. I had to finally take her to the doc because nothing worked. I had to get a special prescription cream from her and she said to let her go diaperless as much as possible and to use Zinc cream...i found zincofax to work really well and its really thick.

try using just a warm washcloth instead of wipes, and you can take her to the doctor, they can guve you a prescription ointment to help with it

definitely check with the doc when you can....our daughter had a baby yeast infection at one point and needed more than just the diaper rash cream. but once she was on that it cleared up within a few days..good luck

Good advice to keep as dry as possible. Some zinc oxide to protect sensitive skin. Some time with out a diaper. Forget the baby wipes for a while. Good luck.

I had a friend with a similar problem. Someone suggested it could be a reaction to chicken pox shots, another mom had a child with a fungal infection and an otc antifungal cleared it up. Butt creme worked well for one. Change the diaper every time it is wet. I do remember having to do that with my son. We changed him every hour or so. Checked every 30 minutes to see if he was even a tad wet. If you are still introducing new foods to your babys diet, baby's hiney may be sensitive to the acid in the urine. Things like OJ will cause higher acidity and even if it isn't the cause of the rash, it can cause the current rash to be more painful.

Hi, sorry. Try no diaper as much as you can--I know. Warm water soft washcloth to clean--no but wipe..and TRIPLE PASTE worked so great for us!! Good luck

:( Poor bubby, poor you! My suggestion is to take her to your child health nurse. For your sake as well as hers (you must be stressed out of your mind with worry). She may be able to suggest ways to make her urine less acidic (to ease the burn) and also she'll be able to tell you if you need to see your G.P about a mild anesthetizing cream. Also going without a nappy (make sure you lay down a lot of towels) is a fantastic idea.

let her go diaperless as much as possible. When she does have one on, do it very loose so air can get in there. Also, put the thickest cream you can on and then baby powder. Blot, don't wipe.
