Hi All,
I've been trying to get my almost 11 month old to nap on his own. He usually nurses to sleep, but we're trying to break this habit (doing day time weaning) and it's been awful! He's so tired, and just won't sleep!
Any tips? I put him in his crib drowsy, but awake and he cries/screams for an hour! I do check-ins at 5,10,15, 20 min intervals, but he usually just cries for an hour, after which time I just can't take it, and I get him out of his crib and we go for a walk/car ride and he usually falls asleep that way (also not a good habit for sleep!).
Any good tips for weaning? He doesn't take a bottle or pacifier and I can't get much milk out when I pump (only about 2-3oz, which takes about 30 min to pump out - both boobs - after waiting anywhere from 3-5 hours between pumps/nursing). I just want to do day time weaning for now - he'll still get the boobs when he wakes in the morning and before bed (and middle of the night feedings, for now...that will be a whole other weaning session!).
Thanks for your help!
