From a teacher's point of view: Many male students with unusual or made up names tend to be bullied more for their name than female students with unusual names. Alternate spellings may also give children a difficult time as well, and I have seen frst hand how a child is made to feel belittled by statements like, "Didn't your mom know how to spell your name right?" Let's face it, kids can be and are cruel. If the name Khan is meaningful, consider it for a middle name. A first name may subject your child to "Genghis Khan" jokes in the future. Or a variation of the name that is meaningful. The first thought that popped into my head was Khan, stretched out into Connor. IMO, I think "Tyler & Connor Branford" sounds great! All the best to you!

Wyatt is a nice name. If you both like the name Khan. go for it. Maybe you could spell it differently. Some of the names in our family come from last names. Hence Wyatt.

I have a son named dakota because I am from North dakota originally. It brings a piece of home to my homesick heart daily. I think if you name a baby after your brothers last name there is nothing wrong woth that. It has meaning. It has heart. Each of my children's names mean something to me. My first child was named after my mom and dad. I already told you about Dakota. His middle name after his god father. MY last child who is due in the next month will be named Samuel which means in the name of god. Because we are getting this last child as a gift ffrom god we never expected we could have any more children. His middle name is his daddys'. Just as long as the name means something to the two of you that is all that matters.

Many people use their madden name as first names so why not your brothers. Several of my cousins used family last names as first names.

If you both like Khan maybe try to find a name that has Khan in it so you can call him Khan for short. Most people never call their kids by their full name anyway so its a win win situation then and maybe you wouldnt feel as weird calling it your brothers last name!! :) Hope this helps :)
