Having serious issues with energy! I can't get up in the morning. The list of things to do are piling up. I feel like such a horrible mom. I know there is something seriously wrong with me. I have been to 2 different doctors about this. First one basically suggested that I get a life and would feel better. The second told me to try to go to bed earlier. I tried that and still wake up feeling the same. My 2 year old needs me and my home is becoming just an overwhelming task. I don't have insurance so I'm scared to spend anymore out of my pocket to see another doctor fearing I will get no help. If anyone else has gone through this, please help. Also, I have been taking iron supplements and that hasn't helped either

Did either of those doctors run blood tests? There are several different deficiencies that cause fatigue that can be diagnosed with a simple blood test (no clue on the cost of the test with no insurance though).

Depression can cause fatigue. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (pain in the butt to diagnose).

Vitamin supplements and regular exercise can help with fatigue, but if you have a real, underlying condition causing it... the only 'cure' is to discover the cause and treat that.

Have them check your thyroid. When you have that low of energy it may come to a underactive thyroid which can lead to severe lethargy and an inability to lose weight. I speak from experience...it took the doctors years to figure out what was wrong. All the best!

You could be anemic. It takes atleast 6 months for you to notice a difference. I was severaly anemic and just could not get myself out of bed. I was not depressed- just no energy and found myself nodding off during the worse times of the day.

I finally found a liquid iron supplement called Spatone- the company got bought out and it is now called Spatone Pur Absorb and can get it at any drugstore like Walgreens, CVS pharamacy-etc.

It leaves you with no side effects as it is absorbs very quickly into your system.

How do I know it works? Well I had my blood levels checked before taking it and for each 3 month increments after that. It took me 6 months for my iron levels to jump from a 4 up to a 13 which is the low end for normal. The doctor was actually shocked, but said she would recommend it to her patients.

I am picky and don't normally believe in vitamins and all that crap. Well to be honest most of it never worked for me, but this iron does and I also take a under the tongue melt of Vit B 12 to help with energy and Vit D.

I hope you can atleast give it a try. I saw a huge difference.

I have been told by many doctors over the years that the pill form of iron causes a lot of side effects and does not absorb. Liquid is best. It gets right into the system. This is also why I like the Vit D and Vit B 12 that goes under the tongue. It gets right in there.

Most vitamins and supplements have a coating on them and you wind up just pooping it out.

Studies have been done on this.

Thank you. I will try that. I take iron supplements but I'll buy the liquid. It might be better for me. I appreciate the advice.

The doctors did not do a blood test. I suggested that myself to the second doctor and he told me to buy vitamins and shrugged it off. My son is 2 1/2 and I did not have postpartum directly after and I'm not sure if its possible to develop It years after. Thank you for your suggestions. And hopefully I will get a diagnosis soon. I'm ready to feel better!

When you go to bed, are you sleeping well and through the night? I'm assuming these doctors did a complete physical and found nothing medically wrong with you?
