My daughter is turning 1 years old in March, and I'm trying to plan a party. Her birthday coincides with her father's, and we don't have many friends who have children (we have many childless frieds). Our place is not big enough to host a lot of people, and it will likely still be too cold to host the festivities outdoors. Any suggestions?

First birthday is important, some easy ideas are to head to the local dollar store. I didn't go all out, I bought some "boy" paper plates and napkins, and I rented a cake tin shaped like a teddy bear, and made a cake. You should have a local party place that rents them so you don't have to drop $20 at Michaels. Just invite who you want, and decide whether you want gifts. You could combine the two birthdays together and make it "princessed" themed and your husband would have to wear a crown too just for fun. You could also google baby theme birthday parties and you might get ideas there too.

I had a nice little get together at my house with my friends & family (anyone who had kids brought them).  My son's birthday is also in March & it was snowing the day after he was born (the day before he was born it was about 50 degrees!).  At that age they'll never remember & it's better to save your money for when they start having a say in where their b-day party will be!!  It's nice to have photos & momentos, but not necessary to go "all out".
