I did look up POS, since the most common definition is Piece Of Shit, or Point Of Sale

POS: Point of sale, some rapper alias, http://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com/PO...

Depending on context, POS can stand for Point of Service, or Place of Service, an abbreviation used on medical insurance claims; or it may stand for "positive."

So, if even your personal physician didn't know, I don't feel stupid! Nor am I pissed off. Amused, maybe, but I find people who can't type in anything but text speak to be amusing! I also really enjoy getting down to a 3rd grade level with the "I don't care if I pissed u off" comment. Classic LOL for me

I have a SIL who is the only person I know that can honestly say that she can get no one to see her for her "condition"...but it's because she's been kicked out of every office in the tri state area, and she's threatened multiple litigation's against multiple doctors, so none will see her.

If you're in that boat, I have no sympathy. Otherwise, quit saying that you "can't" do something about it. Any doctor will take you on an initial consultation.

You have every right to be offended. It's a free country. I also have the right to call it as I see it!

Cheers! And happy Thanksgiving for those celebrating.

Sorry, I'm calling Troll on this.

This poster appears to want to start more negativity about the Affordable Care act, which they obviously have no clue as to what it really encompasses.

If she has "great insurance" then she doesn't need the Affordable care act to find herself a doctor, and no doctor that I know, especially if you're going to an OB/GYN that specializes in these things, would refuse to investigate a problem. And, any woman who goes 19 weeks without a period (once her menstrual cycle is established) has a problem.

No physician will refuse to see you for anything. That's how they make their money. Unless, of course you have run the physician around the block more than once, and they're writing you off as a crackpot.

And, if this is a "real" post, then I have to say that there is more than one reason for missing your period, so any doctor would want to check those symptoms out, regardless.

And, now that Dove has provided us with the correct acronym, and Betty has given us the full spelling...

I did some searching, and it doesn't surprise me if your physician is seeing this as a symptom of the PCOS...because it is. Irregular or nonexistent menstrual cycles are one of the primary symptoms.

If you feel that they are incorrect (I must point out that gas activity in your intestines can also be mistaken for baby movement), then you have the right to ask for a referral to another physician for a second opinion.

However, if you approach the new physician with the "i'm always right" attitude, don't be surprised if they refuse to see you. Doctors, as with ANY service provider or business, can reserve the right to refuse service to you. And, its very common for a physician to not take on new patients if their patient roster is currently filled. They don't like to take on more than they can handle on a personal basis.

You said the last doctor doesn't even know what pos is, so.... they would be looking to find a reason for no period...

You also asked what you should do.... and what you should do is get a new doctor. ANY doctor will get you a referral for a second opinion.... so I'm agreeing with Shawnn here.

Well for ur info I have pos and the drs are passing off my pregnancy for pos and if Shawnn lively dosnt know what pos is then look it up! Second with the new health care act I can't see a new dr they won't accept me cuz I am not already a patient. But if u knew the laws and read the post then u would know. I simply asked the question that I did that started this to find out if anyone else had pos and was a clomid baby like me and see what they did but I guess that was way wrong of me sorry Shawnn lively if I don't meet ur standards of a person! Yes I got very offended of what you wrote and now I don't care if I pissed u off!!!

Also, I will add. At 19 weeks a DR should be able to feel ur belly and feel the baby inside. What the HECK are they playing at???

I really don't understand, not one bit. It doesn't make any sense as to why they will not do a simple blood test. If u are telling the DR. that u have all the symptoms and that u can FEEL a baby moving, it makes no sense for him/her to say no. Maybe demand they can use one of those thingys i forget what they are called so that they can hear the heartbeat. Are u showing??? 19 weeks is almost half way through???

Go back and demand a blood test. If you haven't had a period then your doctor should be checking out the reasons why. If your doctor isn't giving you even basic care then you have every right to go elsewhere.

Keep working on getting a blood test. According to my doctor, my pregnancy with my daughter was a two month long flu because the urine test turned up positive. In the meantime, pay attention to what you do, eat, and drink. Take care of your baby and yourself.

WHY are the doctors refusing to see you? Can you find another doctor, or go to the er to get checked out? Maybe just schedule a pre natal exam with your ob. I just don't understand why they will not do a simple blood test on you.
